in Nashuatelegraph.com: Local events are worth getting off the couch on Nashua Telegraph
You really are a delightful writer! It's a pleasure to read your columns. And I, too, am guilty of not attending some of the local events, for no real reason. I'd be happy to join you sometime! Just the impetus I need to get off my own couch!

in Brookline woman uses job skills she learned at Lyndeborough farm on Nashua Telegraph
Wrong word in 5th para? "...become a virtual part of our society..."

Sounds like this is a mungeing of ""vital" and "integral." She's not "virtual," she's a real person!

So this was either a misquote, or Mr. Bathurst made a malapropism.

Aside from that, though, kudos to Lindsay!

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE!
SPAY AND NEUTER YOUR PETS!
Rent a video or ask a local vet or shelter if you want your kids to witness the "miracle of birth." But DO NOT let your pets breed! Please. It's NOT "better for the animal" to have one litter before it's spayed. That's a myth.

in Nashuatelegraph.com: Don't be a Freud of the dark on Nashua Telegraph
OK, so Kathleen still works there. Great, glad to hear it. I just don't see her name on the Contacts page, and she hasn't posted anything since March even though the TG still includes little block ads in the print edition about her blog, and I knew the TG had a layoff recently so I made an assumption.
I still like reading her blog, and yes, I realize it's not "news." Neither is George! Everyone has their own tastes.

Seriously? The Telegraph kept this guy, but let Kathleen Palmer go? Who the hell is running this shop?

nashuatelegraph Um - Kathleen Palmer still works here. And in fact George Pelletier does not - he is a freelance columnist.

Thanks

so who got the axe? I notice that I don't see Kathy Palmer's name on your Contacts page... too bad, because I really liked her blog.

in www.mytoddlerishoggingmycomputer.com on The Mother of all Blogs
So apparently the toddler has completely taken over your computer to the point that you don't even post to your blog anymore! I wish you would. Yours is one of the most interesting (to me). All the others are about sports (why so many? BORR-ring!) or fashion (for youngsters, also boring) or science (one of the few, besides yours, that I enjoy).

Please post again!
Tx.

in Nashuatelegraph.com: Greater Nashuans watch the birdies, note turkeys' comeback on Nashua Telegraph
The web page layout doesn't work for this article. The sidebar thingies (with the Regional, World/Nation, etc. news links) don't move over to accommodate the bird table.

in Few tractors mean clogged sidewalks in city Patrick Meighan can be reached at 594-6518 or pmeighan@nashua telegraph.com. on Nashua Telegraph
What's wrong with good old shovels and man- (or woman-) power?

And the sidewalks in front of the library should be cleared, as that's where the handicap parking spot is. That road is dangerous enough. You have to climb over the rock-solid ice banks to get onto the sidewalk which is still not cleared.

deliveryguy The problem is today's Society is LAZY! I have a hard time walking up to some homes when delivering the mail.

The other problem is people don't think! Imagine the fireman trying to walk around behind your house if it is FIRE.

As for the city one side of a main street is suffecient as a first strike & then go back at a later date & hit the other sides.

in Baby gets some ‘ligion on The Mother of all Blogs
Ah, finally twigged to the fact that Autumn is your daughter! I realized, reading this post, that I had no idea what her name was and had never seen it written in your other posts before. But I did see it in your June 2008 post with the pictures ("Baby Liebovitz"). Were you intentionally keeping her name quiet or just didn't realize you'd never written it here before? Curious! It was just strange, seeing as how you've mentioned your other family members' names. Cute stories!

Kathleen yeah; i was a little reticent to mention her name on a blog. but after 16 months of blogging, "my daughter" was starting to sound a little too redundant...

I agree. Fantastic book (as are all the others by Jon Krakauer that I've read so far), and the movie is very well done and quite affecting. Andrew, you should also check out the "Alone in the Wilderness" DVD made from footage shot by, and the notebooks of, Dick Proeneke, who moved up to Twin Lakes, Alaska in 1967, built his own log cabin, and lived there - alone! - for the next 30 years.

I think you meant to say that 2005 had the horrendous weather and the high number of accidents...which makes sense according to your table.
