Rudy's father used to work there, so Rudy then passed the message onto his father. I don't know if it helped at all, but just want you to know we care. I hope your father is in full remission. <3 Casey

Re: The Bidding is Complete - @MelanieMitchell is my hero.

WOW! Lucky Melanie Mitchell! Can't wait to see the photos/video!

I agree about charity... I usually try to give every year, but due to economic concerns I've been frugal recently and have been trying to save in all aspects. I splurged the other day, though, when a couple of cops were raising money for the family of a fallen colleague. He was killed when someone went the wrong way on the freeway.

Charity FTW! *High five*

Re: drew olanoff dot com.

Whoa! Coke...

I used to drink 2-3 cans a day, but then I found out I had Fibrocystic Breast Disease (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fibrocystic_breast...) and that caffeine worsens the pain.

I tried to stop Coke cold-turkey and started drinking Root Beer (most are caffeine free) and ate non-chocolate cookies to get over my separate chocolate addiction. It was SO HARD.

Luckily, my mother found Caffeine Free Coke and I LOVED it! The only problem was that CFC was introduced around the same time as when they were introducing SO MANY other types of Coke (Coke Zero, Coke Lime, etc.) so CFC was not heavily promoted in comparison to the more exotic new flavors. As a result, no one really knew about it and it didn't sell well. Grocery stores eventually stopped carrying it and now it is no longer available in Canada.

My mother has been able to buy me American CFC when she visits the US, but American Cokes are made with High Fructose Corn Syrop (obesity, anyone?) instead of real sugar so I don't really want to drink it.

I'm REALLY upset that the Coke company didn't promote CFC... it tasted SO MUCH like real Coke that I believe many people would have bought it if they knew about it! Now, my breasts are starting to hurt more and more because I'm back to drinking regular Caffeinated Coke.

And, perhaps you're wondering... how badly CAN my breasts hurt with all this caffeine?

...So much so that if someone tries to hug me I will keel over in pain.

I am honestly hurt that the Coca-Cola company didn't work more to promote CFC. And I feel the pain every day.

Re: dream ticket or nightmare?

Actually, forget Hillary... now that she lost, Obama can choose another woman to be his VP. They came about as a way to bring web dwellers to watch TV again, and I think it definitely helps to create buzz.

As for web series (or video podcasts or video blogs), those are here to stay... instead of being a marketing ploy from old media, they are indie creations made primarily for the web. Sure, maybe a bunch of people will use it to get jobs in TV, but there will always be indie creators trying to get their work seen.

My two cents... but there's definitely a big difference between webisodes and web series that most people aren't bothering to highlight.

Re: STeaP Episode #32: Monkey Picked Birthday Tea!

WOW... that's an amazing monkey collection, srsly. My happiness stems from a tool...

Veronica just linked to this on Twitter, so it's the first time I see it.

I kinda wish that I could be this happy all the time, but I have a deep-seeded desire to best all the people who bullied me in high school.

In my graduation year I felt that committing suicide would "show them", but I (thankfully) realized it was a bad choice. Still, I can't help but still feel the need to excel in something spectacular to make them feel jealous about me at our high school reunion.

Really... my life and ambitions are built upon this idea of trying to be the best. But, you're right... as long as my loved ones are well, things should be right in my world view. I guess it's BECAUSE no one in my immediate family and friends has been seriously ill before that I haven't lost my selfish goals.

Then again, I unfortunately don't feel like I've had very many GOOD friends. I often feel that friends are temporary... they happily use me for a while and when they get bored, they disappear. Sad but true.

My... I am rambling at this point... :P Time to get to bed.

Goodnight, new friend... may you stay around a while :)
C.

Re: How I Tamed My Inbox

OMG!!! They are mass adding your friends. At first, I add them back thinking they might be fans, but once I check out their profile and see they have thousands of friends (even though they aren't famous), their mini-feed is filled with friend adds, and they work in marketing... they are instantly removed.
