One more question has come up in the interim:

For the sake of easier readability (i.e. differentiating between each comment/post in the thread), I've tried modifying the CSS background color for the comment header and there is no effect at all. I can successfully change the header font color itself but the gradient-like background I cannot change.

Any ideas?

Re: Disqus Configuration Questions

OK - never mind on this one too. It has made me want to scream in frustration to see many feminist Clinton supporters who (RIGHTFULLY) are enraged by the sexism thrown at her in the media, and by the unwillingness of other progressives to acknowledge that, then turn around and DENY the racism that she has practiced and that has been thrown at Obama. They say that people who see it are being too sensitive, or that we shouldn't rush to judgment, or that it's somehow a conspiracy to make her into a "monster," and that thus it's somehow sexist to be angry at her for using racism. I posted this earlier, but I really think it's a useful (if imperfect) piece (that quotes some of the most important black feminist women in the academy at present):

http://www.thenation.com/do...

It has made me feel so alienated from a lot of people I thought were on my team.

Re: As purple is to lavender…

And here's the rest of the thread that got lost w/ Haloscan...

sunburned counsel: I heart you so much, and I needed this post so much right now.

Jersey: Damn bitch, you are the shit! For real!

PortlyDyke: This -- "It just flushed away a lot of that tolerance bullshit and exposed a rift that’s been there since way back in the day." That's it exactly. As rough as this primary season has been, I'm grateful that it's exposed so much crap that's been there all along -- festering . . . ugly . . . and destructive, even when it was ignored or more "subtle" (ha! As if!). I'm glad of your voice, every day, Shark-fu.

Linden: Amen to everything you say. Let's not forget, however, how the abolitionist movement left the women's suffrage movement on the curb for the next 55 years. Crap just goes round and round in the great merry-go-round of racism and sexism and classism and the strange interplays among 'em.

katecontinued: This needed to be written and I am so glad you did, Sharkfu. So perhaps this was marginally explained but WHAT THE #%&%@*(&#@ was going on in that cabin?

Bob: Yea, 'twas composéd of AW3SUM, indeed. Question: Is the Island on the back of a turtle?

Liss: WHAT THE #%&%@*(&#@ was going on in that cabin? -- That's Jacob's cabin. And Jacob is TEH leader of The Others. Ben was Jacob's lackey.

Liss: Question: Is the Island on the back of a turtle? -- LOL!!!

Miceelf: Glurg. My wife was on call last night, so I had to tape it and avoid watching. Can't wait for the end of the day.

Batocchio: So, I'm trying to decide what made me laugh the most. Your photo caption. Your Scottish selection. Or the high-fiving. It was pretty damn cool. I'm looking forward to the season finale. This season has been fucking fantastic.

Betty Vagynomite Boondoggle: "That's Jacob's cabin. And Jacob is TEH leader of The Others" - Oh, I know. But wtf with christian and claire?

Bob: But wtf with christian and claire? I see dead people.

Betty Vagynomite Boondoggle: Is claire dead?

Bob: Just a suspicion, Betty. Based on Christian telling Locke not to tell anyone that he saw Claire in the cabin.

Miceelf: I have to point out that Brian K Vaughn has been helping with the writing on this show. He wrote one of my favorite comics Y: The Last Man, which was great even though it broke my heart.

Betty Vagynomite Boondoggle: "Just a suspicion, Betty." - Ah. I didn't see last week so I'm all paranoid I missed some big! secret!

kg: If Claire's not dead she is definitely high.

bc: lol, kg. I think she's dead too - I mean, she left her baby. I read theories elsewhere that she actually died when her house got blown up and was walking around dead for awhile until Christian came for her.

Liss: she actually died when her house got blown up - That's what I'm thinking.

merciless: Best line: "Destiny is...a fickle bitch!" Best biceps: For this epi, Keamy. Best squee: Sayid speeding away on the Zodiac, going to rescue the Losties like the gorgeous fookin' hero that he is.

Betty Vagynomite Boondoggle: How do we explain Sawyer finding her awake then?

bc: to add to merciless' list: best scene: hurley and ben sharing the candy bar. omg. i laughed so hard.

merciless: bc is right, thanks for including it. We're so used to seeing evil Ben, Indiana Ben, guy-with-all-the-answers Ben, and him just sitting there with Hurley like children told to wait outside was perfect. The sharing of the candy bar just confirms once again that Hurley is entirely composed of awesome.

Betty Vagynomite Boondoggle: "The sharing of the candy bar just confirms once again that Hurley is entirely composed of awesome." - Fully seconded. He's a curly-topped paragon of awesome.

TheHolyFatman: Did. not. read.comments. resisted urge. watching TiVo tonight. cannot wait. *sluurp....sayid*

Thealogian: Though I'm now on board with the Claire dead in cabin explosion, apparition while carrying baby through jungle w/ Sawyer, et al; now that Christian was the one to "greet her" I suppose, I'm a little more confused because Christian is a Daddy and the Daddies all seem to be either in cahoots or at each others' throats. Palik, Widmore, etc. ????????? Anybody got any Daddy theories out there?

Re: Blog Note: New Commenting System

It makes it easier for the moderators.
