The one problem we don't have is a shortage of things to discuss and share: creation, comparison, reviews, background and so forth.

Thanks for the compliment and fingers crossed on Balibo. I'm so excited about that film.

Re: Lucky Country site live

All valid points and thanks for the praise on the design, I'll pass it on to Nick (the designer).

The plan is to grow a following up until release, keeping the post frequency relatively high and include key people from the films creation to give their perspective and spread the responsibility of upkeep. We'll probably slow down after release, but with the distribution of authors should keep the posting pretty active up until DVD.

Your suggestion on the use of a scene from the film is a valid one. Right now that's not in the plan. We do have have some great footage from the set which will be featured though.

...and I hope we fall into the 'good marketing' category for Australian film.

Thanks for the comment on the Lucky Country blog. Sadly I lost it with the integration of the Disqus content system. So I'll answer it here:

We did 'deinterlace' that clip - but your right it's 'zigging and zagging' so will have a play - thanks for the headsup.

Re: WWDC 2009, Live from App Store visualisation

I wish, I wish... However I think the big thing is not to be trapped by them - I value process and diligence - but new thinking comes from breaking some of these models. After all our audience is moving at twice the speed we are... so we need to think different [and fast] so having an inherent knowledge gives you that. I think the big opportunity is training the digital savvy in offline media to really 'connect the dots' it seems the other way round is far more of a challenge...

I guess the killer 'model' or 'process' has yet to be cracked, but lets keep having a go.

Re: Single Origin - best coffee in Sydney

a pleasure... love the video, think you captured the magic...
Sadly I missed my coffee at Single Origin today, meetings from the moment I started, but I did pop in for smiles and exchanges of Happy New Year...

I think the re-fit is good... although I still struggle to know where to stand.. :)

Re: Choosing a social media agency

Cheers Jye, thanks for reading...

Re: Choosing a social media agency

We got a few eggs with our startup... so that's helped. :)

Re: Choosing a social media agency

Nice comment... thank you. I guess the main thing here is the fact that 'social media' is really just recognition that the web is social - always has been, always will be... it's just that now its hit the mainstream rather than being relegated to the (so called) geeks, nerds...

Facebook is like a training ground for the masses to learn 'basic' web publishing skills... then they go forth an conquer Twitter, Wordpress etc....

Dominant for sure.

Re: Blogflash: Ben Cooper is engaged to Rachael Turk

cheers Ben, congrats to you too...

have you bought 'the ring' yet? Firstly my update to the post via WP on the iPhone failed to go live, so sorry for keeping you up at night wondering about 'indie', Mike called me on the day with an update but the tech malfunctioned.

Mike, from Holler - whose cat it is - revealed that she wasn't lost after all - just stuck. So no social media success story here I'm afraid.

Re: Twitter helping to find ‘indie’ the cat - be vigilant!

hey Matt. It wasn't my cat, its Mike's (of Holler). On asking him about whether Twitter helped or not he said;

Well, to be honest twitter didn’t help in the end. I think the point is that it could have if she was actually lost :P
In reality she was actually just trapped so nobody had a chance of finding her except me!

Not so many people following but lots retweeting:

Thanks for the inclusion on the list, region correct - all good. Doesn't feel right that you should discover this news here. It wasn't until Rach updated here Facebook profile that I felt I had to follow and update my profiles; blog, twitter, facebook etc.

Not sure about location yet. I'm just keen to have everyone I care about there, so either a wedding in AU then a party in UK.. or perhaps something in the middle; i.e. Thailand, Bali. I'll of course let you know. Trust all is well with you.. Happy new year. Having a brief Google around I have to agree that I can't find reference to an AMC Twitter initiative (only the intended shutdown of profiles). However when commencing this story I'm sure we read that AMC we're behind the character profiles and fans had then cloned other versions. This being said, I can't find that reference. I did find this article - which you may find of interest "Confessions of a (fake) Mad Man".

I'll keep looking because I was quite sure... Cheers. Character development is such a rich area for building interest in a story, especially online - where intrigue can be rewarded so readily. I'm looking forward to exploring the opportunities.

Re: Followers of Mad Men on Twitter

for sure, the only thing is I wonder who's actually managed to get this through to the producers, marketers - its an extremely smart social marketing campaign.

This is the first example I've seen of such a deep and real experience around a TV series - seemingly with the actor/character themselves. Even Lost with its complex ARG was something that could be released at scheduled points.

The value is evident but the hours involved in maintaining this type of engagement is significant. Love to know more.
