I tried to visit the buzz the other day and was greeted by a giant media temple splash page.
If Dreamhost ever gives me problems or Josh Jones from Dreamhost's monthly newsletters start to suck I will def. consider the MT upgrade.
...mainly for the Media Temple parties which I hear are only attended by the cooler of the bloggers out there.

I do appreciate how specific your categories are.
I agree with sam about your widgets though.
They could both be crammed together in one row even or stacked as they are now but next to the 'popular pages' widget down below.

Great post!

I have been wondering all my life when we will actually start to see the inevitable death of print magazines. So far, it seems like there's more and more of them each day though!

I like Sam's idea of a possible database of all such print articles in one place. Internet Archive are you listening?

All responsible magazine's existing at this point SHOULD be archiving all of their back content and making it available on the web. Unfortunately a lot of them are not.

I like Lessig's thinking.

We need someone down here to run a similar campaign against our Douche Ken Calvert.

He keeps getting fatter and douchier from lobbyist money he uses to hire prostitutes. I want to walk down the street to his house and yell at him.

I'm pretty sure anyone could beat Calvert if they ran against him. Anyone out there reading this interested? I will help you. Signs, ron-paul like graffiti, internet presence... lemme know.

I don't ACTUALLY have anything against Calvert for being fat. That's just icing on the cake.

I knew Calvert was a douche but the level of douchery wasn't as clear to me until I looked into him a little bit more today.

Excerpt from Calvert's 'Personal' section on Wikipedia (backed up with sources):

"In 1993 Calvert was arrested for soliciting a prostitute.[10][11] The Riverside Press-Enterprise went to court to force the Corona police to release the police report. In that report, the arresting officer wrote:

"I observed a male subject in the driver seat... As I made my way to the driver door, a female immediately sat up straight in the front passenger seat. It appeared as if her head was originally laying in the driver's lap... Both subjects were extremely nervous. I noticed that the male subject was placing his penis into his unzipped dress slacks, and was trying to hide it with his untucked dress shirt... The male subject started his vehicle and placed it into drive and proceeded to leave. I ordered him three times to turn off the vehicle, and he finally stopped and complied... The male identified himself as Kenneth Stanton Calvert... and stated 'We're just talking that's all, nothing else.' ...I spoke with Linberg separately. I asked her if she had ever been arrested for anything, and she said, 'Yes, for prostitution and under the influence of heroin.' Linberg said she had last 'shot up' approximately one week prior and is currently on methadone."

Also in 1993, Calvert and his former wife, Robin, were divorced after 15 years of marriage. His ex-wife later accused him of not paying the alimony arranged. In addition, his father committed suicide. After these experiences, Calvert said that the experiences "have helped me mature greatly... and become a better person."[12]"

I think I am the opposite of you in that (up till this point) I have dreaded personal budgeting. I haven't really even used any software whatsoever for budgeting but I can't imagine a tool simpler and nicer to look at than mint.

I was wondering how mint makes money for offering such a service for free so I googled it. Turns out it's through referral money from the special offers they suggest. Sounds like a win-win for mint and those using mint.
