When someone sits down and wants to do a garden layout they don't think of SolidWorks or Pro/Engineer. 3D is very intimidating for many people, my 7 year old can sketch 2D, it's crap but she can. It's the birds eye view. Now tell someone to draw it as they are standing there and give it depth, you might as well ask the square root of pi to the 10th decimal.

Re: Stop the SolidWorks Rot: Simple Tips for Awesome Design Practices

Library parts are the greatest things since Jagerbombs, er sliced bread. This in itself put's Pro/Engineer to pasture. No path statements it's just there.

What I don't like about SolidWorks library hardware is they are still not completely defined once inserted, you need to add a relation to keep them from spinning in place. Our models have a lot of hardware, PEM and Screws, and it's a pain going through all of this. I've submitted this to SolidWorks as an improvement, guess we'll see.

Re: The 2 Step Trick to Kill Email and Take Back Your Day

If I only check it once or twice a day I'll miss all my SolidWorks tips and tricks and I'll have wasted the day designing parts the wrong way instead of a better way.

Also

If there were no spam, I would only get 5 emails a day and the "you have mail" icon would only come up those 5 times.

Email is for sending jokes anyway, right?
