I like to hear someone like me, talking about Tech stuff. Dave Slusher was right.

Re: In the Trenches - 10-29-2004

Hilarious....That looks great!

Re: In the Trenches - 11-08-2004

I did pc service work for about 15 years and I know what you are talking about with the "I got a problem!" syndome that you were talking about. My favorite, in a hateful way was "I've got a quick question", or "While you are here...". Whenever I hear one of those in my mind I am just thinking "AARRGGHH!"

Re: In the Trenches - 11-08-2004

5 Minutes? I usually get "It will only take a minute..."

BTW on the FF front. I am a web developer with a Lawfirm. Now IE is the standard (yuk). I use NTLM authentication on our IIS server to get the users username so the intranet can know who they are (I wrote it). I made sure that clear text passwords was on in IIS, and I can use that with no problem. IE goes right in without prompting, but I do get prompted for a password in FF. Small price to pay. I think that I can do just about everything with FF now, including proxies. (We did away with the proxies, yea!)

Re: In the Trenches - 11-08-2004

Are you talking about viewing the citrix session in the browser as a web app? I haven't tried it. I usually just use the client.

Re: In the Trenches - Special Edition

I thought that was interesting because it wasn't the standard interview like..."Tell us about your product X". It was refreshing hearing about a different type of topic.

Re: Looking for some help

You got it. You can even stick the password database on your thumbdrive. Very flexible.

Re: Ah… The fun of being a dad.

That Rocks! I say big deal. Let them have thieir way, the way they act will be their undoing. There is also a lot of good music that is out there that they have nothing to do with. music.podshow.com and Grageband.com

Re: Firefox on Macs giving people fits

I have had problems...similar to what you are talking about. It is like if I have had it open for log periods of time (which is very common) it is like it stops caching anything...and it stops showing style sheets and the like and stops opening pages.

I have to force a quit and then .. all is ok for a while. I will add that it does take a while for it to start acting up.

Re: Google Android: we want developers but…

I disagree with the disappoints comment. It JUST came out, it is not for consumers yet, and it IS Open Source. Look at Nokia N800. It does a LOT, and it is based on Linux...I am sure a lot of those apps will be a no brainier to port over. So the "No making stuff for it" doesn't really hold water for me.

I think you are beating up on it a little too early out of the gate.

Also may I add that I can see the Gphone OS on several phones and the iPhone os on .. the iPhone. I think developing on a platform far and wide might make more sense than just on the iPhone. So, yes an SDK is coming for the iPhone...it still only runs on the iPhone once you make the app.

Now, was it a Dry video presentation...Oh yea, I am with you there.

Let me add...I do enjoy your insight and opinions on things like this.

Re: New iPhone 3GS macro and autofocus features rock

Not trying to take a dig...but my Blackberry 8900 takes fantastic shots also.
