Good one! You owned me. I'll remember not to mess with you any more - you obviously are better than me!

Oh, so not only do you not understand sarcasm, you take my sarcasm as me being a dick. That's amazing! If only you had actually made a point in your first comment, then maybe I might be offended, but since you didn't, I'm not! Keep on keeping on being a dick because you obviously have such a small one to be acting like such a big one!

What you're hearing is the sound of palms hitting foreheads all over the internet. Keep up the great work!

I think you ruined your chances of getting the job with this post, however. You forgot to add sarcasm - the main thing the potential employer is looking for. Good luck on the job hunt!

Hey, thanks SO MUCH for making the EXACT SAME POINT that I made EIGHT HOURS EARLIER. You've really added a lot to this conversation, and have clearly mastered the elusive art of "Making an obvious point, while being kind of a dick about it."
But then again, so have I.

in Dear Neighbor… on Charles French - Food, Travel, Ramblings, Etc.
I wish I could have verbalized this to an old roommate of mine who did that. I just knocked heatedly on his door and tried to explain to him that I could still 'hear' his music and TV even after he turned it down the first time I was rudely awoken on one of many, many nights like this.

in Your Nasty Little Dopamine Habit (And, The Daily Show Loves Twitter!) on Creepy Sleepy
I am so going to tweet this . . . oh wait, I just realized I don't have time to anything but comment here because I actually have to 'work' and classes and studying and internship and a life outside of the interwebs is keeping me from having all of these pretend relationships with people I rarely see in person and who would not know me from a can of paint if they met me on the 'outside'.
One of these days I will use the "record video comment" on here because my sarcasm doesn't really come across in print. I'm no Dave Barry.

in Rutgers saga...continued on What I Read Today
Wow, I didn't even know this name change issue was occurring at Rutgers. I have a friend in the program right now and he didn't even know.
You are right, though, in pointing out that the mission statement of the Library school does not seem to be considered important. This name change is, in my opinion, very important and should be looked at closely and more people need to know about it. Since Rutgers has the only accredited MLS program in the entire state, it should make sure its focus on Library Studies stays (or gets) strong and, in fact, grows.
Rutgers is not only an affordable option for in-state students, but comparatively speaking, is an affordable option overall. I ended up starting my Master's at Drexel, which I regret in many ways, and ended at Queens College. Rutgers needs to step up to the plate, as it doesn't sound like this is a big deal to them.

in Why Twitter Is the Only Thing in the World That Can Save the World from the Top 10 Causes of Destroyed Worlds on The Inquisitr
I don't see the reducing selfishness part. I see a lot of people, especially PR and media types, who only talk about themselves and what party or event they are going to. Name-dropping, events that people brag about going to (and that someone else was not invited to), and bad-mouthing others are some of the more selfish things I've seen. Mow, instead of a few people listening to them rave about their elitism, dozens or hundreds of people are subjected to it in a single tweet (if they are following them).
On the other hand, in different circles, I do see caring. Obviously, the PR types are going to be the ones tweeting the most to score higher numbers of followers and make more connections, but there is no validity in a lot of what they say. I know a couple of people in particular who can stand to be blocked from tweeting about things they know nothing about - benefiting many people.
Yes, I could ignore these tweets, anyone could. I am merely stating my opinion. Pompous people can be as amusing as the best comedian.

Champ: It jumped up a notch.
Ron: It did, didn't it?!
