in Introducing the StartupNorth Event Calendar on StartupNorth
OK, folks: have a bit of a sense of humor! Calendars have had hot people in bathing suits on them for a long long time before the internet came around. Making a joke of this is certainly fair game in my mind.
If the image were in any way pornographic, I'd understand, but this type of images decorated walls in public places for a long time, and is not exactly x-rated.

in MeGlobe Gets Lost In Translation on The Inquisitr
More to the point, they should migrate the rules their engine learns over to google translate and use the google translate website to do the work. It's already several orders of magnitude better than theirs, and getting better faster than theirs. They can't catch up, and to be honest, most of the time I need to translate something, it's not a chat, it's a document or email so GTranslate is a better tool. I don't want to have to "teach" two different engines- if I make a correction in one, I want it corrected in the other.

in Stop waiting for your big idea, learn to get shit done on StartupNorth
My excuse is that I can't take the risk of leaving my family homeless while I try to start a company. Ideas are easy- it's the job of getting them making money that's so difficult.

in What would you ask Bell? on CBC Radio: Spark
Of the large telcos in Canada, not one provides or has promised network neutrality to their clients. Not even to offer unthrottled internet as a extra paid feature. Why do you think that the competition of a few large telcos justifies your request for the CRTC to stop forcing you to allow smaller internet providers to resell your internet access?

in Rumor: Facebook Security Breach Results in Lawsuit on AllFacebook
"Facebook opened up the platform, but the entire site has been completely open for Facebook employees since the beginning."
Don't confuse "open" with "insecure"- FB opening their platform does not implicitly expose their users' data to rogue application developers just because their employees have root access.
That said, if they do not design the system with security in mind at all levels internal and external from the ground up, one simple code bug (like an SQL injection leak) that allows an outsider to log in with employee credentials would be a complete and catastrophic security failure.

in Lee Lorenzen Strikes Back on AllFacebook
That's ridiculous. Facebook may be the coolest new website that everyone's on, but be serious- they make less than a single walmart store, and the entire walmart operation is worth only $180B on today's stock price (http://finance.google.com/finance?q=NYSE:WMT).

in Self Infatuation on AllFacebook
There's a reason I stopped reading his blog- too high of a attitude to readable content ratio.
