Steve, with OneNote 2007 just File -> Open -> Notebook, click ONCE on the root folder and then click Open.

According to the source code it does 6 major steps...
1. Get Section Hierarchy (what section are you in?)
2. Put TOC in datagrid (query for page info)
- Note: Line 70 is sort by modified date.
3. Create XML Table (reformat with table elements)
4. Create new page
5. Move page to first in section
6. Add content to new page

Update to "Daily Journal" PowerToy
- Easier config in 2007
- Other enhancements?

SnagIt to OneNote
- Send from TechSmith's "SnagIt" (screen clipping) to OneNote.
- Especially helpful for marked up images.

SnagIt is awesome and extremely powerful. Even if it's not quite as easy to send to OneNote, the capabilities/flexibilities of SnagIt makes up for it in many more ways.

Change/History/Version Log
- Shows last modification date, time, and user.
- Creates a list at the bottom of the page.

Sync Log
- Shows last successful sync date/time.

I added a screenshot of the "A to Z" icon in the toolbar.

In the RTM version I had to create "Journal" as a Section Group, then another Section Group below it for "2007".

Pause the printer and it will queue up all the print jobs. Then resume when you are ready...

Start -> Printers and Faxes -> Right click on "Send To OneNote 2007" and select "Pause Printing"

The Democracy Plug-in doesn't allow ownership claims and by entering a new item you automatically cast a vote for it.

Yes it will work with v1.5.0.6.

To install.. "Save Link as" to your hard drive, then "Open with" firefox.exe

I have not heard from Gmx Lee (the developer) in a while, so I do not know what the status/plans are for updates.

Andy Gray has been in contact with MS and is updating Daily Journal.
Andrew Wheeler has already updated OneSnap and re-submitted for testing.
Not sure about the other 10, but I'll keep trying to get updates...

Have you tried the "IE2OneNote" or "FireFox/Flock to OneNote (ClipNote.xpi)" PowerToys?

They give you a button in the toolbar, so you just hightlight (or not, for the whole page) and click the button. OneNote opens and pastes it into a new sidenote page.

No. They will work in both 2003 and 2007.

This just saves them from having to reload them in the download center later when 2007 is released.

Andy of TabletDev hinted that he had a "Favorites" feature that he had not implemented yet. Not sure how it functioned though. Otherwise the only way (until ON12) is a shortcut with a file:/// to the .one file...

In OneNote 2003, the best you could do - if you were quite clever - was to insert a file:// link to another section. Couldn't get you to the exact page, was difficult to construct, broke if the other thing moved, etc.

In OneNote 12, when you right-click on a page tab, there's a new menu command called "Copy Hyperlink to this Page":
When you select this, OneNote builds a onenote:// hyperlink to the current page and puts it on the clipboard. Then you just navigate to the page where you want to insert the link, paste, and voila - OneNote inserts a nicely formatted friendly link (for example: Linking related notes together).

More about "Taskbar utility for tasks"...
- TaskBlaze has a simple interface for adding appointments in Outlook. Simply create a title and click the start button. When finished that task, click Stop and an appointment will be made in your Outlook Calendar.
- Auctioneer for Lotus Notes (and Outlook) was similar, but more advanced. You could do Tasks, Mail, Appointments, and more. Plus it could query for the categories. Sort of a mix between ActiveWords and TaskBlaze. Highly unstable, but a cool concept.
- The default "Open New Side Note" in the taskbar can be used for task management purposes, but limiting the view of the screen isn't all that useful to me.
- The Daily Journal powertoy allows a hotkey to be defined to make navigation to a page of ToDo's easier, but doesn't enable flags or place a timestamp.
- The Outlook2OneNote powertoy allows you to select the .one file. This would be a nice feature.

Last, but not least, is that there has to be a "GTD" focused PowerToy out of those 1000 submitted ideas for the Contest. In fact, I'm adding to the poll right now for that.
