in Stoicism 101: A Practical Guide for Entrepreneurs on The Blog of Author Tim Ferriss
Hey Tim,
I took your advice and brought Seneca with me on a mini retirement to Greece. It was life changing. Our society seems to have shifted into books like the Secret that just don't seem to posses the depth and practical applications that these principals do. Great work.

in Measuring What Really Works on Twitter: Post Timing and Headlines on The Blog of Author Tim Ferriss
Hey Trim,
Great observations on what works and why. For me, I've found that adding a photo (in our case a photo from whatever part of the world we happen to be in) increases our CTR substantially. What I didn't realize was how effective questions we're. Great Work.

in How to Use Twitter Without Twitter Owning You - 5 Tips on The Blog of Author Tim Ferriss
Hey Tim,
I agree Twitter can pull you in too much if your not careful. The upside for us is the ability (for the first time) to connect with our peeps in real time while traveling around the world. For example last month I was in Rio looking for directions to a restaurant in an obscure location in Leblon- Boom-15 seconds later 20 responses. I think your spot on with your 80/20 assessment of it.

Rob

I think George Carlin's "seven things you can't say on television" to this day is one of the funniest pieces of comedy ever created. I used him (via my ipod) many times to help change my state- especially through airports.

in How to Learn Any Language in 3 Months on The Blog of Author Tim Ferriss
Hey Tim,
Great words. Kim and I used your last language post (as well as your Pimsleur recommendation) to practice our language skills on our mini retirement (and last dreamline goal of 2009) in Rio for the New Years celebrations. It works- even in Portuguese :) Look forward to implementing this one in France for our next mini-retirement.
Best and Happy New Year

in The Prescription for Self-Doubt: Watch This Video on The Blog of Author Tim Ferriss
Hey Tim,
This blog post could not have been more perfectly timed for me. As I 'put my self out there' in doing more on camera and even just blogging work (with my muse) I realized how much I'm exposing myself to more harsh comments from the peanut gallery.
When I first started this I was blown away at how intense people could be with their comments and there were many days I felt like you described above. But, your right "Get back up- Bigger and better things are waiting for you". My life has radically changed since I started this and better things have already showed up! Thanks for the post.
Best,
Rob

in The Power of Less: Changing Behavior with Leo Babauta on The Blog of Author Tim Ferriss
Hey Leo,
I couldn't agree more. Tim actually gave me some great advice in this area on the last live call he did (the night before the launch of his pilot). He explained that the dreamline process is more about elimination (focus) than it is anything else. In other words get rid of everything else and just focus on what your trying to make happen in the next 6-12 months. That turned it all around for me.

Thank YOU,
KIm and I just wanted to say thank YOU (from Rio de Janeiro). Without your passion and commitment for creating a muse we wouldn't have been inspired to create ours. We spent the last night of 2008 with 2 million people on Copacabana beach watching the fireworks (while are muse was ticking away)!
From the beaches of Rio,
Happy New Year

in Pavel: 80/20 Powerlifting and How to Add 110+ Pounds to Your Lifts on The Blog of Author Tim Ferriss
Hey Tim,
It makes total sense to me that he could apply this principle to powerlifting so effectively. I was able to use the 80/20 principle for both the creation of my muse and in applying the same principle to P90x (my current experiment). Great article.
Also, Horacio Goday at La Viruta in Buenos Aires says hello. It was a fantastic Tango Lesson (and great mini retirement)! He wound up doing the opening of the BsAs video that we shot at La Viruta. Lots of fun had by all.
Merry Xmas,
Rob

You did it again! Applying the 80/20 rule to the world of sperm (donation)- nice work! I did have a bit of trouble NOT making the mental pictures throughout a few parts of this post- but I'm OK now. Kim's still laughing:)
P.S. Any musts while we're in Buenos Aires this week?

Hey Tim,
I think this falls into your category of do the opposite of what every one else is doing. I have only a few friends who are Angel Investors- and they all do quite well. I have many many friends who invest in stocks and well...there not. It makes total sense to me that if you don't have an 'information advantage' stay out of it. On another note- Burning man looked like it was off the hizzay!
