Loic, all I have to say is that I'm a subscriber to your email list and haven't been reading your posts as often as I should be!

Over the past 2 days, you've been quite inspirational so I've crossposted them to Facebook.

About a month back I went over all of my Twitter followings to delete the people I'd initially added as a means of gaining a follow-back -- only. This included a whole whack of twitterers with no profile photo or other discernible profile info, or, for example, tweets in languages I have no use for or understanding of (egs. Chinese, Japanese, Thai, Arabic, etc. -- though not French, Spanish, Czech, etc. -- those still come in handy!).

I dig the candidness of this post (as is your customary style), and I wanted to just tip my fedora your way in gratitude.

Vince, Jean Feraca at Wisconsin Public Radio's HERE ON EARTH was similarly corrected -- it's Bei-JING as in "genie," not as in "Vladimir Zhironovsky." Great post, though. Tight. Have a read of Patrick Brown's recent "BUTTERFLY MIND," on the contradictions of China as you've expressed them.

Vince, there was a study done on this in the Czech newspapers about a year back -- and it was discovered that the locals here in Prague were prone to overtipping, while it was the visitors/tourists/and resident expats who were serial undertippers. There are theories why this is so -- but perhaps beyond the purview of my comment. In any event, powerful clip and I forgot to mention that I really dig the jingle!

I tell you the truth, though, Vince, I sure as heck wouldn't want to get old 'n grey in one of these post-Communist emerging economies. While we've got some of the most competent medical professionals known to the globe, imagine the stress a prospective patient who isn't one of the so-called "elites" is often forced to contend with as they're subtly asked for a bribe on the part of these very same doctors! This hearkens back to the travails of one local colleague (who spent her exile years in Canada) who was nearly point-blank asked by her surgeon for a backhander. ::: I only wish I could video reply this one to you... ::: GREAT clip. You've got a natural knack for this.

I'd love to know how the bottom edge remains so flush to the water surface -- is the bay always that placid?

This was very helpful -- I've got to pass this off to my business partner to have a look at, since we're in the market now for an upgrade as well...is the audio quality on the VideoMic as good as, say, the kind you'd get with M-Audio's MicroTrack II (http://www.m-audio.com/products/en_us/MicroTrac...) at 48Mhz, which is what I'll use for my audio-only interviews?
