I Love QuickSilver and use it all the time on the Mac. Much better than a search in windows (google or otherwise) and even Spotlight on the Mac side to use as a quick app launcher or for tagging specific often used folders.

I hadn't tried that yet, but I have noticed a couple of other little things missing from Vista (I know, who'd a thought anything would be missing from there...) that I like, such as image previews when you look at what's in the task bar (or whatever they're calling it now) or when you use Alt+Tab.

FDIC probably over 10-15 years ago now, only had 1/72 of a dollar (I'm going with that, though I seem to remember it was 1/72 of a penny per dollar) in actual reserves to back your money. So, the reality is, the FDIC means nothing. Got gold?

OMW, that so reminds me of how my former partner was stashing stuff that he tried to use as evidence against me in a (failed) lawsuit. I completely get the feeling of be trail - you have my deepest sympathy. And, I'm also glad that you've found a place for your daughter to get great assistance with her education and that you're going to have a house again too :) I still remember all the renovation pics from Stamford.

Note: Lawrence. I'm a home-schooling dad (with two older siblings and a sister-in-law that all work in education), and while we're doing everything we can to re-establish the parents as the proper guardians of of our children - the state, the Feds and even the UN are doing everything they can to say that the government is the authority over our kids. It is still a long road and one that most of us are fighting every day.

You do have some great options! Looking at what you've done with the wordpress blogs, and the CSS skills you'd have to have for that, I'm guessing you can probably find contract work doing front end/GUI development. A lot of that type of work is virtual, as long as you can show a portfolio of what you've done there's work out there that may be junior level, but it will pay WAY better than any retail might! That, and if you do that for a year you can probably get into some pretty decent wages. IMHO. I'm sure you'll rock whatever you do!

You're asking great questions, which is a great start. As you've found though, there are no easy answers. Let me ask you some questions.

1. How do you expect a viewer/listener to interact? Especially if you're doing something live, what avenues are you planning on using? Chat channels? FriendFeed rooms? Twitter hashtags? Will you allow users to interact with you through live video? Skype or iChat channels? Do you want to be able to edit or screen that kind of feedback?

2. I love multiple person engagements. I think it would be great if you can provide someone who really is a devil's advocate to your position. No, you don't need a Dvorak, but a Molly Wood type (or Molly herself!) would be great. I also like a male/female balance when possible. That's just me. It's what I enjoy the most (thus one of the reasons I was a BOL listener since it's start). The most important thing to provide in a pundit though is someone I can respect, male or female, young or old - they need to have real cred in that topic.

3. Don't include twitter because it's "new media" - include twitter because it provides a relevant topic for discussion. It's a tool like any other, it's not the special sauce that will make a broadcast hip or cool. Include twitter, facebook, youtube or whatever because it's part of how you dialog. It has to be an extension of you, of how you do things - if it's not, then you'll look as goofy as these Fox News at 10:00 anchors that are suddenly trying to be "cool" after striving so long to be "the news you can turn to."

I think I cross-pollenated the answers, but I think I did answer all the questions. Sorry it's not two page double spaced. Rock it now!

1. My life has improved dramatically. Income is up (good thing), debt is going down (good thing). I've matured a lot (many things working together just finally clicked). I've found a way past one of my most consistent problems (yahoo!).

2. Free time down a bit due to travel back and forth from the office. Plus side - when I'm home, I'm home now and weekends are for the family.

3. Next move is - uh four- things. (1) Get funding for my startup. Business plan is prepped, doing a course on fund raising now to put on last touches and start submitting to Angel groups. (2) Totally rock the stuff I'm working on in my consulting gig and provide opportunity for upgrade in hourly or exposure. (3) Start doing the seminars that I'm supposed to be doing on destiny. The series rocks. (4) Either join a podcast network or find a sponsor for my podcast - which is starting to get some pretty darn good numbers.

4. Teach you? Peace. Perspective. Encouragement (something I'm terribly good at). Failure - as in what has failed in my first go at starting up a business from scratch - so you won't have to repeat it. But really - a lot - peace. The ability to rest in the moment you're in, know that you're going in the right direction. Spiritual rest.

What can you teach me? I'm always learning.

Oooops. I almost forgot. I can share with you how to be a great dad (though it "sounds" like you're already working on that) and a great husband as well. In fact, you could throw all the rest out (except for PEACE) and it would be worth the time.

Kudos, props and congratulations. As someone that I've seen as a force of nature since I first came in contact with you, I'm sure that you'll ROCK whatever you do.

One memory I'll always have was when I ran into you at Podcamp Boston 2 and you were cleaning off the tables. There's not much a motivated man with a servants heart can't accomplish, because you'll always find the way to create situations that make you and your potential clients better.

I think this rocks! We're in process of doing this at my church, where I'm currently the person responsible for social media. We have a facebook page, we've got the members connecting on twitter as well. And, of course, every Sunday (where applicable) I'm tweeting the message (sermon) on @tweetjericho.

Additionally, we've found it provides opportunity to *be* what we believe to a community that is skeptical about the church (and for decent reasons). Good on both Emilio and Jon!

This type of behavior is foolish and unnecessary. It's not hard to do exactly what you proposed and it should have already been their policy in the first place.

Facebook's response to the alleged spamming is like responding to a fly with a Howitzer - you miss the target and just make a big hole. Unfortunately for facebook, the hole is in the credibility and more importantly the TRUST they've built up with their community.

Keep asking questions and using the loudness of your crowd to wake them up!

Yuppers - great advice indeed. Saw this on a show on HGTV, Ed Bagley (I think) goes around greening up all his Holllywood buddies houses. They went over the cost of the bulbs and energy - I couldn't believe it! Good get Mr. Penn!

Targus makes a pretty good bag. I like STM (what I currently have) and also Booq (my last bag before the STM). I have had Targus bags in the past though. Now I'm mostly a backpack guy.

A couple of other comments (catching up from the last two episodes)...

(1) Tom, why not publish your book on Lulu? Or, even better for a struggling entrepenuer (yah, not all of us hit the VC jackpot), how about a podiobook version?

(2) Roger, please, by no means EVER publish your diet. Besides being nutritionally, uh... not great... if anyone tried to follow it you'd probably end up with a law suit.

(3) Who cares about the Mets or Yankees? Go RED SOX. :-)

(4) As if anyone really cares about baseball with training camp opening this week. Ha! Go Pats and 49'ers!

(5) Roger, stop eating the damn mic or something. Damn, you're supposed to be just off the mic.

(6) I haven't found a single site that I can't get to on a Mac for banking or anything else. And my wife uses her Mac all the time for paying the bills, etc. as well.

Welcome to parenthood. May I recommend a TiVo. As a father of four (very soon to be five) I find it indispensable. For us so we can time shift the shows for our enjoyment later - which allows us to give the kids complete attention. For the kids because we can TiVo 6-8 or so shows of their favorites (Backyardigans, Fresh Beat Band, etc.) and the lineup keeps changing so they don't get tired of watching the same ones until they're dead beyond measure.

PS I would recommend never watching shows like fringe or Heroes with the kids. Even the atmosphere those shows create impacts little minds and bodies.
