in review: Kutner & Olson’s “Grand Theft Childhood” on The Technology Liberation Front
"children are drawn to violent themes because listening to and playing with those frightening images helps them safely master the experience of being frightened. This is an important skill, perhaps even a life-saving one.” They also argue that “Video games give free rein to fantasies of power, glory and freedom. That’s quite different from the mundane lives of must children.”"

i wonder if bush had played some strategy game in his life.
if so, we would have spared the costs of his earth version of C&C: terror alert.

i'd like to know whether there 's a place in the world where my biometric data won't be collected.
i'm not a criminal, i'd just like to live in a place where i'm not guilty till there's an evidence against. there is a fine line between security and privacy violation, and many countries in the world - u.s., in the e.u., etc - have decided to sacrifice our privacy for the cause of protecting our money. well, i'm never gonna live in an orwellian cyberpunk nightmare for my security. my freedom is more important than my money.
is everybody going crazy out there? or am i?
