Ang. Komissionen; Visst var den bra. Kul att som omväxling ha en bra svensk serie att titta på. För en gångs skull hade de lyckats avhålla sig från att överförklara allting och dessutom drivit upp tempot jämfört med en normal svensk produktion. Det passar mig. (Men förmodligen satt mamma och R och hade svårt att hänga med :) )

Och man får inte hleer bli rik på att arbeta i detta märkliga land. De enda sätten som det är accepterat att tjäna pengar på är att antingen vinna pengarna eller också genom att bli elitidrottare. Med tanke på hur på som har förutsättningar för det senare så är det inte konstigt att statlige Svenska spel drar inte miljarder varje år. Men att arbeta ihop till en liten förmögenhet eller, ännu värre, ärva den av hårt arbetande föräldrar - det är skamligt!

Surt sa räven?? Det var i o f s min första B&B;, men jag tyckte att det var himla kul. Visst finns där många månglare i templet, men också goda möjligheter att berika sig. Fast Jan Guillo, Lasse Eriksson och Torgny Lindgren kan jag nog vara utan ett tag. De dök upp i snart sagt varenda monter.

Jag sitter just nu och lyssnar på Ring P1 (denna sanningen utpost!) och det är trebvligt att höra att många ringer in och är väldigt arga på prsäterna som vägra välsigna. Uppmaningar i stil med din hörs, dvs att hetropar ska vägra att låta sig vigas av dessa personer och att man ska låta bli att gå på deras gudstjänster. Hejja!

Att de inte kan köpa kyrkomötets beslut är patetiskt.

Jag gillar verligen färgen. Och kattungen. Tuttarna är jag inte så attraherad av... Generellt är jag rätt trött på att få bilder av tuttar upptryckta i ansiktet vart jag mig i världen vänder. Särskilt som de flesta är konstgjorda. Stämmer inte överens med min kvinnosyn.

Av Guldbaggegalan såg jag bara de sista åtta minuterna (för vi såg CSI). Förhoppningsvis de sämsta åtta minuterna, för annars vet jag inte varför de kostar på tevetid.

Det var inte reklamens användning jag funderade över :)
Men jag har funderat över vad räknaren är till för:

-manuell stegräknare (träning även för händerna)

- blinkräknare, så att man vet om man blinkar tillräckligt ofta eller bara stirrar dumt framför sig

- silverfiskräknare, så har man något att göra när man sitter på toaletten (för alla som inte gillar att läsa)

- irritationsskapare. Få saker kan gå en på nerverna som en klickande penna - eller irritationsskapare!

- påminnelse. Så att man kommer ihåg att inte göra så töntiga reklamfilmer i framtiden.

VJag konstaterade just igår att man förmodligen hade uppskattat CiC väsentligt mycket mer om den inte hade kommit efter VH. Det är inte samma stringens i replikskiftet, inte samma väluppbyggda stories, inte lika vältecknade personer i CiC som i VH.

Lite extra knasigt blev det igår när den man som i CiC var Nordkorean ett par timmar senare dök upp som kines i VH :)

Men CiC är tillräckligt bra för att dra mig till tevesoffan varje måndagkväll.

Och mittemellan är det CSI, originalet. Ingen slår Grissom och hans medarbetare. Särskilt inte Grissom

I knew him for around 6 years and can confirm he is as messed up as claimed. sUMMER bbq's and with lots of children around and this guy would be talking about his lvoe for breasts an sexual positions.. is that cool? is that a coll guy that does that in front of small children? Lets not even mention what he got like when the other teenagers were around who were lets say "blooming" oh hang on.. are you lot that are defending him the kinda people who take rapists sides because "she must;ve lead him on" or paedophiles sides cause "they teased him" GET A FUCKING LIFE!! this guy is rather fucked up and yes he was involved in scientology oh hang so was the aforementioned family maybe its all down to scientology? well to be honest i think it takes a certain kinda person to be "into" scientology.. and today guys. theres lots of them out there.. Now one last thing to say... Tiocfaidh Ar La.. Thats irish for our day will come.. our day will come when all the victims of this guy and his mates come out the woodwork and one day someone will have more guts than me and burn they're house down around them.

VanillaMan, there is no shortage of children in this world that would make procreation a necessity. Your theory would also prohibit marriages to infertile humans and senior citizens. Maybe this is really an excuse for the older man/younger woman dynamic. Newt would be so proud.

Let's get off moral issues and debate how we make this a better country. We can talk about ethics reform forever but if the electorate is only supplied information on moral issues we'll never have an ethical government or campaign.

When the wagonloads of voters from the south side of Chicago are being handed their "sample" ballots, they will vote for Stroger and Mangieri. Obama will not count in this race, just like when he ran against Bobby Rush. And, the party machine will be turning out voters for Stroger like crazy. I wish Forrest would pull it out, but the forces against him are overwhelming.

YDD - Don't forget that a Meeks candidacy sort of levels the playing field for Rod vs. JBT. And - that could be the only big turnout event for November.

By the way, to our earliest poster, Axelrod and all other professional campaign advisors lose races. Especially when they're willing to take on the little guys as clients. Losing this one - after coming so close - would still be a victory to an awful lot of folks. There are plenty of hacks to look around at - who never win a race - and embarrass everyone who had supported a candidate. That is not the case with Axe.

ISU Rep- when was there ever thought that Obama would run unopposed? Keyes was brought in over the objections of several moderate Reps. The every present right-wing won that round. Look what good it did. Now it's back to the center to see how it can do. It's too early to think about November - I want my garden time....

For now, where are the precinct/ward/county break-downs? That's the only reading material I want.

I heard it this morning on WBBM radio. The worst part - and it's so hard to describe - but there is singing part to this - a theme song if you will- sort of a Shirelle's singsong thing going on. So many comments. Adlai started the "sore winner" campaign with the Solidarity Party. A big difference. One that also proved that a large population still does not like to split their tickets.
Lieberman wins in November. I don't like it but that's what the law allows there. And finally, while some may consider Poshard a moderate Dem - to alot of us, he's a Conservative Dem and barely a Dem. Lieberman's support of Bush and the Iraq war wasn't his only step out of Dem territory and I don't think it will be his last. The only place this could come up here - Melissa Bean's race - has voters that tend more conservative - so I think it won't make a difference.
Bush's numbers are sooo bad here that it will be a reverse of 94. FINALLY.

I took up our family history and found relatives in eastern Europe. My aunt - who had never been to see her parents homeland, gave me a check for $3000.00 so that I could make the trip she only dreamed of. Nothing else ever came close.

1-No, but heads should roll. If DH doesn't cut some people now, as signal that he's not getting all of the support he needs from his staff-he'll be cutting alot more later. 2-Yes, clearly not the best man for the job. 3-No and they'll all pay for it. This cut and run stuff is not going to help the GOP and it looks like it will get worse before it gets better. 1994 in reverse.

Not sure of its effectiveness, but I'll be watching to see what the Obama ad does for Duckworth. I like it - it's up front and clean. No catchy music. Anyone know how many candidates Obama has done commercials for this season? If Duckworth pulls it out, alot of people will give him more credit.

YDD, the other DCCC ad - regarding book banning was also right on target. Pat Hickey may not like Rahm, but he is hitting all the right notes. I never thought I'd be singing his praises - but he's on target. And the RCCC is making a mess with each of its ads. There isn't one that is worth the money. If that's what they're doing all over the country, the Dem's will win the House back.

Absolutely, $2000 per election cycle or per year. Something, this no-holds-barred program here is pathetic. Let everyone raise as much as they can, but in $2000 increments. There are limits already on federal candidates and in many states. It's really not that hard to implement. Long overdue here.

Trib editorial: Didn't Jim Edgar come out early against DCN? I seem to recall ads blasting her and the property tax swap - which he later tried to play as his own. So the Trib doesn't like it when Dems do it, but when their endorsed candidate does, well that's just fine.

Neanderthals - aren't all government employees - state, federal and local, advised that spouses or domestic partners must meet ethics regulations? Even here in the big, bad City - ethics training includes many references to family ties. Does that make Da Mayor a Neanderthal - for promoting ethics? How can the Gov not get tarred and feathered by the media for this ridiculous comment?

Capt America, the LaRouch folks were in 1986 - had nothing to do with 94. After 94 the State Dem party held a conference and came out with full support for Durbin. They stayed on that track - he won, they got the House back and started getting back Senate seats. That's just in Illinois. The GOP needs to pick it's next standard bearer and have EVERYONE get with the program. starting now...

And, http://www.heifer.org - helping the poor purchase a cow or lamb or pig - teaching families to fish rather than feeding one meal.

Intl organizations seem to do more with less than many of our local groups that have bloated budgets and expenses outside of the actual cost of providing services.

I don't think that the aldermanic web-sites are necessarily campaign sites. Most are just better than the ones the city offers and have been in existence for years. They also offer city services - not campaign info - others - not the ones you mention do campaign stuff but there is a big difference between the sites of Smith and Daley (I haven't checked out Moore or Schiller) as opposed to - oh let's say Natarus. That's a campaign site and always has been.

I remember Evan Bayh once describing Indiana as "Illinois without Chicago" - I'd rather have both. As one who was born and raised in Chicago, Springfield is viewed by most of my neighbors the same way that Washington DC is - they take my money and don't give me anything back. Downstate isn't the same as Springfield. Downstate has as many descriptions as any other area - it depends on the person doing the viewing - it can be anything from negative (hicks, backwards) to positive (open land, rugged, adventuresome - to some city folks Alton is downright mysterious). But I really think people differentiate between the Capitol and the rest of downstate.

I always contribute to friends - 06 had too many friends running and it cost me but most of them won. I never give to someone who is sure to win and has a huge balance sitting there. Since Barack announced exploratory I've given him more than any other candidate - ever and I hope this will be the first time I Max out. My checks are usually in the 150-250 range. But the internet makes it so darn easy to act with your heart.

One final note, for every political donation I make an equal donation to charity. If I can't afford both, then there's no political donation.

Sorry Objective Dem but Skeeter is right. This will energize the GOP giving them back the Reagan Dems. It is the right thing to do - government should not be offering a "separate but equal" civil union acceptance. Leave marriage to church and government should only issue civil union documents to all - or it should issue marriage certificates to SS couples. Discrimination in any quise should not be how our government operates.

I don't know when it will be a "good" time to bring this up. Perhaps we should wait and see how "truly" accepting this country is of a black man and a woman running for President. We will learn alot about the state of the union in the coming year and a half. Remember, we still don't even have an equal rights amendment.

One more point on the union money, there was a lot of money spent on driving down incumbents numbers - which didn't have to be reported because there wasn't a "vote for" message. Plus we only see on reports when someone actually lists an in-kind or regular contribution. How many candidates have not reported their in-kinds? I've seen a few mailings that don't show up on the candidates A-1 filings so far. If the unions support these folks, why don't the candidates openly admit their receipts? Why are unions supporting candidates that don't want to be tied to them?

He hasn't hit his stride. It seems like he's still coasting on his own coattails and not reaching. Like all candidacies, one the public realizes that their rock star is just another human being - they start to lose interest. He's got to keep them and he isn't doing that yet.

I think it was too easy for him earlier and he's not trying anymore or worse has forgotten how to try. He can draw the crowds but he doesn't excite them enough to keep them for the long haul. He excites now but it's the fan excitement and that's more a fad than long-term.

He's still better than most (C+/B) but he should be getting an A or A+. I just have the feeling that it's in him to move it up and I'm disappointed that he doesn't.

I'm with the sales tax increase - not the county but the regional increase for transit. Lula May, I pay taxes on LOTS of things that I don't use - it's called community. Just Observing - many aldermen had suggested other areas to raise funds rather than property taxes. There was no proof that taxes needed to be raised as much as was proposed. So, yes you can support a budget and not raise more taxes than needed.

So many memories. Harold when the White Sox got into the play-offs (Harold Baines vs. Harold Washington). The Mayor was sure the cheers were for him. Him signing a petition for Adlai. Then the aftermath - I was at UIC for a rally for
Tim Evans - was one of just a handful of white faces in the hall. It was not a good place to be following the City Hall eruptions. But, the good memories definitely outweigh the bad - many times over. Thanks for asking Rich, I'm smiling through all of these reminders.

Everyone here seems to have a much more optimistic view of the electorate that I. Remember polls that had black candidates winning in other states (think Jesse Helms et al) because whites would say that they were going to vote for a black man but in the privacy of the voting booth, they wouldn't/couldn't bring themselves to elect a black man. There isn't anything I would like to see myself proved wrong on more than this. I would be so proud to see this country/state/municipality vote for a black man for president. I just don't believe that in that voting booth - those same folks will actually deliver. Prove me wrong - please.

All city employees (other than union members) were already required to take 2 furlough days this year. Now they have to take a full week (5 days) while the union folks only take 3. They can cry all they want - they won't get a lot of support from all the other city employees.

I still think Julie Hamos is the smartest, hardest working legislator. She got much more attention during the transit hearings. As one of many people who went from having federal representation of Obama, Durbin and Emanuel and now only having Durbin - I still think I'm in good hands. No one will serve the 5th District as well as Rahm has - he will be missed. Statewide, too many big egos. Right now I'd pick Dan Hynes - hard working without as many press releases announcing it. Agency? Really? No idea.

Federal - Durbin. Again, not even a contest. Best service and he's around the state - even when he's not up for election. Kirk is almost a stranger except for general elections.

The funny thing is that the GOP thinks this is all good for them. They don't have a single candidate to rally round (still lots of in-fighting) and with such little time - if they lose this one election - they may never recover. Better for them to let this one go (senate appointment) and focus on 2010. Really focus. Don't see that happening which is why Dem's will win this round and the next.

Ditto - have you looked at the district? More churches than bars. Once you're west of Pulaski it's a whole different world. Sure there are a few houses here and there that support gay rights and choice but that is not something you will find in the majority of the district. It will not be as easy for Sara as you expect. There is also a fair amount of machine voting - not one committeeman pushed Stroger over Claypool but he still won many of those wards. It won't be as easy for Sara, Justin or Quigley as you think in the western sections of the district - especially in the suburbs.

I'm for February or March. However, we used to have basic campaigning during the summer (candidates showing up at events but NO commercials). If we could - and I know we can't - block any paid advertising between Memorial Day and Labor Day the whole system would work a lot better. Candidates should have to do the work of meeting voters in person if they have that much time.

2 pieces from Sara that are supposed to be "sepia toned" but look weird - if they are intended to appeal to eastern europeans and seniors it won't work. Blurred print (on purpose) makes it hard to read. Quigley has a mail piece almost every day - I have about 7. Paul Bryar (spel?) has sent 3 pieces and has a cable commercial. Tom G sent a letter. Northwest side - Fritchey signs (big ones) everywhere (Central Ave, Milwaukee, Lawrence, etc). A few Forys (again I'm not sure of the exact spelling) signs in small store fronts. Calls (robo and live) almost everyday - seems to be one from each of the candidates.

So far, early voting represents about 10% - with about 3400 votes so far 35000 is total for this election. I'd say Victor has at least 2000 of those votes. Do I hear Michael Patrick Flanagan? This could make it really easy for Rahm to come back - in less than 2 years.

You can look at the names of those who have voted early - approx 500 people in the 36, 38, 45 wards and most of them have polish surnames. Let's say a 100 of the early voters in each of those precincts are not Forys, he more than makes up for it and picks up another couple hundred in the remaining wards. Those votes should be for John (machine voters) but I don't think that's where they're going. By comparing him to Flanagan I was suggesting that should he win, he would be a flash in the pan - regardless of party.

Yeah, that's a bit high. I'd still say he's close to 1500 though. One of the early voting sites is at Wright Junior College - with a large Polish population . That voting location is where you see the huge numbers of polish names - regardless of ward but highest concentrations in 36, 38, 39 and 45.

If Forys wins, it's because he has a much larger base than anyone gave him credit for and because the three candidates in the top tier all represented a much smaller (and overlapping) section of the district. He will be a one-termer though. That's the flash in the pan I spoke of.
I'm not saying he will win. But I think too many people have underestimated his campaign.

The early voters in 41 look alot more like Forys voters than Capparelli or Fritchey - at least one out of three. I wouldn't be counting on women voters on the northwest side to be looking for women candidates, that's not where these women are coming from. There's far too much "east of Ashland" thinking going on around here. 41 may be where O'Connor picks up votes outside of his own. Who gets the least # of votes on Dem side? I'm gonna say Annunzio.

Rich, not sure what you mean exactly by "changing a voting structure"? Forys is getting machine voters (Regular Democrats) who always come out and vote - they voted for Rosty and Puchinski and Banks, Allen, etc. but now have one of their own, again, to vote for. If you're out on the northwest side, it's hard not to see this. I don't know if he did any ID and/or has any GOTV effort. If he does, he can win this and if he doesn't, he's just taking away votes from Fritchey & O'Connor.

I'm thrilled to find parking when I go shopping. Sure, I stopped at the bank to get a roll of quarters to keep in the car - but that's way cheaper than a lot or valet. And, I can actually find parking now. I have only run into 1 meter that wasn't working. Keep hearing about more but haven't seen it myself.

Rachel Maddow - WCPT (Air America in Chicago) she's funny and liberal. John Williams on WGN and Roe Conn on WLS - both are moderate to left.

I'll use this opportunity to get on my soapbox again, why are there so few women on talk radio? WGN doesn't allow a woman to host a show unless she has a partner, the legal team, Kathy & Judy, overnight, oh yeah, sometimes Bob Sirott has his wife on the show. As I recall, we are still investigating actions taken by the previous Justice Dept while going after elected officials. There does seem to be a very high expectation that every Illinois pol should be indicted - not to say that there's anything wrong with that. BUT, being grossly over zealous will not produce a more ethical group of legislators. The real problem is the messenger. If Sheila Simon said the same thing, I think alot of people would have a different view of this.

I still say we can eliminate most "disorders" by getting back to the basics. Modern life is the source of most of today's problems, health and otherwise. When "get rid of modern conveniences" becomes prescribed therapy, we'll see a sharp decline in illness rates.

Well. I'm going to step forward and say this, and then I'm not going to say anything more publicly on the matter.< />< />I love him no less than I ever did. As much as we'd all like to believe that we might all somehow be destined for a fairytale romance and as such we occasionally might embark on just such a situation in the hope that it might work out - and who can really blame one for trying, even if it sounds too silly to be realistic? - the fact remains that his moving to Georgia was impossible, and the prospect of my moving to Louisiana became increasingly troublesome, particularly when it became impossible to overcome the obstacles that are presented by each person's individual responsibilities - be they to children, family, work, conferences, blog writing, second employment, or other outside work and the financial burden to accommodate actual in-person time - in other words, the obstacles that real life tossed in the way did not allow for the spark to stay. He was aware of this, and has been aware of it for some time. It's just been a struggle and one thing after another has stepped up in the way, effectively sending the message that perhaps this is not the time, and not the circumstance that either of us should be focusing our energies on.< />< />I love him no less than I ever have, and I love him enough to set him free so that he will not be tied to a hope that may be in vain.
