Since I started using TweetDeck, Twitter has become such a great tool on many levels. I use it for a lot more than just sharing my current activity.

Great post Chris.

How fast and how far the technology goes remains to be seen. It's still incredible what has already been achieved.

jessestay When you add your Disqus feed to FriendFeed, your friends see it. Every time someone comments on your blog and they have a FriendFeed account, their comment gets published to FriendFeed also for all their friends to see. If anyone likes or comments that on FriendFeed, it goes back up to the top again. In fact, this comment is getting published to near 700 people following me on FriendFeed because I am feeding my Disqus comments into FriendFeed. Disqus gives your readers the ability to own their own comments, while at the same time promoting your blog even more.

Also, check out my post on this awhile back (but you guys probably read this because you subscribe to my blog, right?):

in Speaking At Wasatch Business Conference 2008 on Thom Allen Weblog
@Jarom

Sorry about that, I just happen to be reading and posting when you commented :)

I did listen to your latest video, and it gave me some additional ideas. I will definitely be asking what the audience wants to discuss.

I think this should be a fun discussion.

Hey Jarom,

I look forward to meeting you at WABCON. Thanks for the offer. I'd love to hear what you would share? Web2.0 is a broad topic. Obviously I can't cover everything. What I will cover is the importance of interacting with customers via your web and social networks. The first half will be the important things a web site needs, and the second half will be about engaging your customers where their eyes are.

What are your thoughts? Things I should share? It would be great to have someone in the audience that can help spur some discussion, because I really want to interact with everyone there. Thanks for your help.

By the way, I tried sending you an email but it bounced.

in Google Sends Me 98% Of My Traffic on Thom Allen Weblog
@Sheri, hmm, that's a great question. Not really sure about specific focus, although I'm sure that is the case for some search engines. But I don't think Google works that way.

MSN and Yahoo for me were about the same. When people think of search, the think of Google, and I can say that just by looking at how people are getting to my site. Personally, I never use Yahoo or MSN. I think people who so use it because its part of their browser and not because they choose Yahoo over Google.

For me, I would really like to build some type of strategy around those numbers. Even if its not for monetary reasons, but how can I change the dynamics of my content, or can I attract a different set of visitors solely based on my content offerings.

I should do another Build A Better Blog In 31 Days series again. I've had a large amount of traffic from several posts in that series, specifically Create Catchy Blog Titles That Beg To Be Read.

in Gary Vaynerchuk - Word of mouth has changed Word of mouth and it’s... on Gary Vaynerchuk
Great video Gary.

Honestly I think getting "everyone" into Social Networking with services like Tiwtter or Facebook is essential for making our business grow even more. Until "everyone" gets on board with these services, we need to work hard to make sure our online connections will recommend us their off-line friends.

@Laura, I hear you. I see many people struggling to keep their house, and it isn't all because they bought more house than they could afford.

The ironic part is what ever help the media has reporting as being available for those in trouble doesn't really exist. Mortgage companies just aren't lending.

I'm glad my 401(k) has been in a market account and not in stocks. I might have really lost everything. Maybe not, but I know it wouldn't be pretty.

I'm not a financial advisor or economic expert, I just know, from what I am feeling, at the pump, grocery store, and every day items, things cost more and my money isn't going as far as it used too.

People really are hunkering down. A lot of people are pulling back from spending their discretionary money and putting it away.

in Build A Better Blog In 31 Days on Thom Allen Weblog
Hey Tawny, great response. I never thought about it that way, but then when I wrote this series I wasn't all that much into social networking, at least through blogs and social networks like Twitter or Facebook.

For me its the time factor. At first it was like a badge of honor. But then, I had to maintain the list, and honestly I wanted to display something other than more links to other sites.

Thanks Jesse. I've been trying to do this blog each day for a month, but as I concluded last night, some times I just don't really have any thing to say. So I agree, maybe less is more for me.

I noticed in lifestream you have an entry for friendfeed, however I don't see that as an option in the WordPress admin screen? Am I missing something? Thanks.

Mike, I couldn't agree more. It was a great place to take the Family, away from the casino. Very few of those places left.

And I am pretty sure the space will be taken over by the trendy shops, restaurants and clubs. Huge loss for Hilton.

@Laura, yeah, it really blows. I wonder why CBS/Paramount can't keep this franchise from failing.

And yes, there would really be no other reason to visit Vegas anymore, except maybe Coke World :)

Adam,

Yeah, never really got into the brass or wood instruments. I loved strings, there was a connection with the sound. I don't know, something. I do enjoy listening to a good Sax player though.

Thanks for stopping by.

He did race on Sunday and didn't appear to have any real problems.
