I am an american and I'll be the first to tell you that the MLS is a joke. Everyone over here is a manure fan that drools over becks, and more than half of the manc fans can't even tell why they like them. The class of the premiership is something that we will never see over here, our football will always be subpar and I don't even care. So you brits, rip on our league all you want there are plenty of us over here that know it is crap. I'll be dreaming of Anfield.

I'm with Stephan on this. I am an american and I cannot stand that some jackasses decided to call the game of the NFL "football". I don't like calling real football soccer, but over here you have to. . Football/Soccer over here is thoroughly overshadowed by "american football" and will never be as big here as the NFL is. What sucks is that people get offended over here when I mention football, and I am usually quickly corrected to call it soccer. If I were British I would be just as annoyed by this, if not more, since the beautiful game was born there.

So your telling me that the word football is relevant to the game that is american football? It clearly is not, that is my point. It has nothing to do with vernacular, it has everything to do with some jackasses calling it football when it has pretty much nothing to do with a ball and feet(outside of punts, kick-offs, and field goals). When american football was created they could have called it anything they wanted. You can spare me the history lesson.

It's an opinion. I know the history behind the use of the word football, and I will concede that it is no suprise that the American version of the game took the name "football". I understand your argument, and it is a good argument. This does nothing to change my view that football to me means eleven men on a pitch using their feet to move a ball around, not throwing a ball around. You like the word soccer and I don't, let's leave it at that.

God, I hope this guy produces and doesn't become another one of Rafa's mediocre signings. We definitely need strength in that position. He wasn't included in the Euro 08 team(which isn't saying much considering who did make the team), so I am a bit skeptical about this.

Joe, you are an idiot. The official stats are that spain had six shots on goal while Italy had three. Andy Gray was spot on about how Italy played and the awful display by the ref. The truth hurts, but the truth is that Italy is out of the tournament. Get over it.

I love what these manc/chelski/villa supporters are saying. They can't handle our club being the most decorated in England and they know that our dry spell is coming to an end and they are scared shitless. So what do they do, they hang on to the last thread of hope that we will go longer without a title so the mancs can CATCH UP, but they all know it's not going to happen. This article is rediculous, but refreshing because it shows that they are aware that success is soon to be ours and that no club will be able to catch our achievements. YNWA

I"m a Liverpool fan and I didn't think this was a bad post. I think that Redknap will keep spurs up. He has definitely raised their spirits. We played some of the best one-touch football I have seen all season today and I was gutted to see us lose.

Our midfield absolutely dominated today, our problem was in the final third and not being clinical enough to kill the game. Hopefully this game will give Rafa the inspiration to work on that.

Us loosing a game was only a matter of time and we have taken 26 points out of a possible 30, sit level on points with the leader, and have beaten 2 out of 3 of the top teams. I feel pretty good about this, but I will feel much better when Torres and Skrytel are back.

Come on Gaffer, you must be kidding about Hyppia. In fact you show pure ignorance in including him in this post. He is absolute legend and will be remembered as one of Liverpool's greatest defenders. He's 33 and has lost his spot to two very promising youngsters Daniel Agger and Martin Skyrtel. I never worry when he takes the pitch and still get joy out of watching him take on the class strikers that play in the premier league. He has had a brilliant career and it makes you look ignorant and biased to include him on this list.

Gerard did not dive you morons. There was definitely contact, and he sold it, he did not go to ground with no contact. If any of you think for one moment that Gerard is anywhere near the diver Drogba and Ronaldo is you are purely ignorant. I don't condone diving, but this was a case of desperate theatrics not diving. I don't think it was a penalty and that is not Gerard's fault, I can hardly blame him for flailing his arms when he felt CONTACT, that is a natural response that every footballer has. You guys are idiots. He might do something like this once every two or three months. Drogba and Ronaldo do this every week(Ok not so much Drogba anymore), but ronaldo does this every week. The big difference here would be that if it was Ronaldo, he would have rolled on the ground waiting for the physios only to get up five minutes later to take the penalty. You morons cannot deny that there was contact, and that gerard was in mid air. Making a meal out of some contact-yes, diving-definitely not.

Pure ignorance Andy. Gerard was first to the ball ,and won the ball. He was hit in mid air. Because we didn't lose like you were hoping, doesn't make it a dive.
