I used to live right at the base of Elephant Mountain. I know you didn't ask but...what building is that? :D Nice shot.

Craig Thanks, glad you like it. The building is unimportant now, it's too small. :)

Good one-loved the analogy about being old and thinking back. taht was precisely the reason I moved here to taiwan over 20 years ago-didn't want to have that old ma brain rewind and face: REGRET!

Keep em coming Gary-love these even more than the wrestling dolls...er, the Thunder Show.

Hey Jeremy,
Now I seesmic the light.(groan) Still finding my way around Seesmic. Didn't even know where this clip went after I finished doing it-lol. Yes, in fact I responded to Annie who responded to you. Very much in keeping with the theme of your meme. Thoughts, sounds, ideas, images all inspire and get re-purposed. The permutations on the original often enhance the original and in some cases even improve. Good piece thanks for sharing and bringing to my attention.

in Ways to Disrupt a Community on Chris Brogan
First let me say as always-Chris I admire your energy and dedication to do good community/social works. For me, I started an A.Connector group on Facebook to tie in to and offer a connection for friends and people of similar social media interests on Facebook. This was in addition to the blog that already existed.

I can appreciate you wanting to do a non-Facebook presence due to being accessible without having to become a member, etc. So you do a Google Group and and Ning-all good. I agree with Scoble-for me, joining the one Grasshoppers is enough. Not to say it is more righteous to be in the Facebook one, and pooh pooh the lowly GoogleGroup and Ning, just enough for me.

I don't approve of snobbery, but I don't approve of overkill either. You of course are free to do as many Grasshopper groups in as many forms as you wish.

I would have guessed that you were hoping to pull in different people at each place than drag your one member ship to all portals?

Anyhow, keep the good energy and community building coming. Peace!

in 100 Comments- Mojo for Video on Chris Brogan
How to get some of that mojo... Well honestly don't think everyone can. I don't believe everyone can successfully and interestingly express themselves in every medium. Good and gripping are all very subjective terms and influenced heavily by individuals cultural and personality filters.

in Your Job as a New Media Artisan on Chris Brogan
Whoo, Chris sharpened the knife on this one. All good points and agreed. Shortening not a bad thing, general consensus: many options to choose from, so make it count. I always try to think in terms of person listening, and don't want to waste their time.

in New Media Merchants and Marketplaces on Chris Brogan
@Brogan-I've read many of your posts by now and they all have passion and some meat. This one hit me like a lightning bolt. That "connection" factor when you know the preacher has brought the right message at the right time.

To answer the question you didn't ask(so you don't have to-:)), once people start charging for new media productions via pay method or shoving commercials in there, the user gets much more critical and unforgiving.

Production, content, laugh meter, etc. all get much more scrutiny. I'm not saying this is good or bad-just human.

For those that are interested and don't know Dave Slusher of http://evilgeniuschronicles.org has done several casts and even a PME presentation on this topic.

Lastly, I tend to agree with you Chris-touch people with your "amateur" efforts and give them a sample of yourself. Perhaps later through good karma or someone being touched and persuaded by your work as a window into your character and abilities, other opportunities will come.

Chris Brogan-a big virtual Hi 5 for Clip It-woot-already locked and loaded in Firefox. Matt-good point, been making an effort to shift from the former to the latter with my newest blog. Helps when Brogan rolls up on you and lays some 'new media" common sense suggestions on you too.

You hit this one out of Fenway Chris. greatest speaker I ever heard was Zig Ziglar. What I learned from him and what you have reflected in this post is-your job is to educate the person why they need your product/service and treat them with respect and convey that through your words and actions.
