I will never be completely satisfied with any tiny keyboard. That said, I don't find the iPhone/Touch's keyboard to be much better or worse than the competition. If anything, I find it slightly less bothersome than the Blackberry keyboard.

Re: Tweetie for Mac is coming on Monday!

I'm stoked that there is more competition on the desktop. I've tried a lot of different Twitter apps, but I keep going back to Twitterrific. Icon Factory I guess just did it right, and it is hard for other apps to entice me away.

Re: Hotspot Shield - Gives you access to ‘American Only’ content for free

USA! So the only way one can load a new OS is through hackery.

As we know from the keynotes, businesses can distribute apps using ad-hoc without having to be approved by Apple. Needs can be met through app development. If your problem can't be solved by an app, is making a whole new OS for a cracked piece of hardware going to be your solution?

Can you think of anything specifically that couldn't just be handled through ad-hoc app distribution within a business?

Re: http://www.macgasm.net/2008/11/29/question-would-you-put-android-on-your-iphone/

Under no circumstance would I ever put another operating system on the iPhone. I understand the "Doing it to see if it can be done" angle, but anything else seems crazy to me.

I feel the same way about OSX86. I understand that people want to see if they can do it, but it has little-to-no practical use.

Re: http://www.macgasm.net/2008/11/27/a-very-apple-thanksgiving/

Pssh... Your machine will run faster and smoother. When developers are delivered great new tools, that leads to great new apps.

I see where you're coming from, but I really do believe this is the right move for Apple at this stage of the game. The benefits aren't as apparent this time around, but I'll be happy as a clam if all of a sudden my encodes take 20% less time or all of my apps start launching in one or two bounces.

Re: http://www.macgasm.net/2008/11/22/snow-leopard-why-so-soon/

I couldn't disagree more. Frankly, Apple is in a lose-lose situation here. If they skipped the release of 10.5, and waited until 2009 to release this theoretical MEGALEOPARD, there would be uproars from the community about what is taking so damn long with the new release. Not to mention that their major competitor in the OS space released a major upgrade last year, so having an operating system that came out in 2005 isn't the greatest thing.

Leopard is a complete operating system. There isn't any glaring omission, so I don't think it is possible to claim that Leopard users got screwed. In fact, it is very hard to go back to a machine running Tiger, and try to live without things like Coverflow in the Finder and QuickLook.

Forcing new releases of the OS to be packed with frills and whirlly-gigs to pacify Joe Consumer, I argue, hurts the overall product. In fact, some may argue that is exactly what happened with Vista. Instead of releasing just a feature packed stable release, they added a lot of fluff to make it seem new and exciting. That seems to have backfired a little bit.

OS X is mature now. I am glad that they are focusing on optimizing and strengthening everything under the hood. Now that they don't have to worry about wowing SillyBilly sitting at Macworld, they can focus on making your computer better than it ever has been.

Re: It's That Bassguy - Apple A Day: Inquisitor

A great addition.

Re: Apple A Day: Twitterrific

Is what it?
