And does make sense. A VC may be able to see the startup landscape from a 10,000 ft. view, and be able to grab a few startups, put them together, and thus combining a few different ideas into a better idea. Or taking one company that is missing something, and fleshing it out with another startup. Very interesting... merging of startups.

Re: Technology Trumps Government Once Again

Well, tis true that government creates roadblocks that technology works around. (also true that companies create roadblocks that technology finds a workaround, think DRM, copying DVDs, etc.) In the case of stem cells, I think the government took the correct moral position of not using murdered babies to field science. Very slippery slope. And yes, a fetus/baby at any stage of development is a human being. You may not think so, but a lot of people do. So the fact that science came up with a workaround is fantastic, not just morally, but scientifically.

Re: Technology Trumps Government Once Again

I could say a lot more, but the point of your post is not an argument for a woman's choice to kill her kids or not.

Re: Moments of SXSW 2008, part 1

Seesmic video reply from Disqus on jeremyvaught.com

Re: That annoying FriendFeed ‘feature’ people like

Marco is working on getting the extra functionality into Twhirl that is available on the website.

Re: project pedal (blog): I Have a Tech Related Query

I've been lurking here for a while now and just wanted to say how much I'm enjoying watching the process of putting this video together. Personally, I do find it odd that people try to walk the fence of being social and anti-social. But we each have our own feeling of where to draw the line on privacy. I get that part. Sorta.

But if you travel across the country to attend a Podcamp, I think you are slightly beyond the anti-social, and squarely in the social. Their true intentions are hidden. The other side of that , is I try to follow people back that follow me, unless they are spammers or don't speak my language. I think I will be me :)

As far as the camera goes, I have two suggestions. The N97 is a phone, not a camera. And while it is a great device, like my N95, I still desire better cameras. So my two suggestions are a Canon Elph and a Sony Xacti. The Canon takes video and fantastic photos, and Canon's are especially great at low light (ie indoor). The video is not bad at all, but it is an add on to a still frame camera. The Sony Xacti takes photos, and fantastic video. For links to the Sony, see a couple of posts ago. I've had a Canon and loved it. My girlfriend has one and she loves it. I have several friends with Xactis and they love them, in fact, Amazon sent me an email this morning that mine is on the way.

So I would say, do you need FANTASTIC pictures and pretty good video? Pick the Canon. Or do you need FANTASTIC video and pretty good pictures? Pick the Sanyo

Re: Do you own YOU?

Mayjah,
Yeah, I had this in the back of my head as I was writing this, so I will write that post as well. Part of what made me think it is Ron at RonAmok.com. So there are two other sides to this, one, making a new identity like you have with mayjah, and the other is having your brand attached to another brand, like Ron Ploof at RonAmok, but you own both brands. Both very valid and very useful.

Thanks for your reply, a great point, and a follow up post is needed. :)

Re: Do you own YOU?

No doubt about it. :D

Re: If you write a blog, why are you hiding?

I'm curious what spam phone calls they get?
