This is why I made a new post as you probably saw in the opening line. I thought about this some more, and obviously not everyone can have their name. So I think you are on the right track, make a new one, or some variation of yours.

I'm lucky in that the other 7 or so Jeremy Vaughts that I'm aware of are clearly not too quick to pick up new Social Media platforms. But then again, how can they compete with jeremyvaught.com/.net/.org/.tv. :)

Re: Thesis Ups Its Game With New Design Options

Oh? This is interesting. I've been using Wordpress since b2evolution and was thinking of dabbling with Expression Engine. But your post puts a serious dent in that. :)

Thanks for the WP encouragement, Jon.

Re: How to Blog Almost Every Day

I'm all about the small camera. I had a Canon Powershot I used and loved until I accidentally left it in my pants in the wash. So I thought I would upgrade to a Sanyo Xacti. It's a better video camera, but the net result is MUCH less video AND pictures. I need another Powershot.

Thanks for reminding me to look into that again.

Re: How to Blog Almost Every Day

This applies to #2. About a year ago I quit listening to the radio in the car. And I am always amazed how my mind starts to really focus on things that I don't otherwise think about while doing other things. But I think that's it, I'm doing other things. In the car, not so much.

And it doesn't need to be waterproof, but I always have to keep my pad of paper ready. I used to use Jott.com before they started charging... actually, now that I say that, I should go back and investigate if it's worth paying. Calling is less accident prone.

Re: Good progress today

haha, if I get stuck I'll be sure to ask. :) Thanks for the offer. :D

Jeremy

Re: Good progress today

Hi Arik!
Thanks for the comment. Yes, I do realize you are continuing to build. You are doing a great job. And if I said I thought of it first, I misspoke. I meant that I thought of it a while ago, have been thinking about building it, and now I'm working on building what I've been thinking about. I also doubt I'm the very first the think of the idea. I just thought of it before I found Topify. But finding you inspired me to start mine. :) Thanks for the inspiration. :D

And I'm all about the incremental improvements. That's what I plan to do as well. I worked with your fellow Frenchman, Loic Le Meur, at Seesmic for over a year, and I have adopted his style of building an app by getting a little core out there, and building from there. I think you guys are doing the same thing.

Finally, I only bring up Topify because you are getting a lot of press right now. I'm using it, as you pointed out, and the value I get from it is great. A large part of this is an experiment for me as I've never written my own web app before. So I'm learning a lot in this process.

Thanks again for your comment! Perhaps we'll meet at a Twitter app conference one day, there is enough applications out there now to host it's own conference. :)

Jeremy

Re: Flickr Opens Up Video Uploads for Everyone

go on, I'm all ears...

Re: Flickr Opens Up Video Uploads for Everyone

I'm a pro user of Flickr. Partly, because that's where my friends are. My roughly $20 a year gives me huge value. I have about 2,500 pictures there, tagged, grouped, and awesome. I know of nothing free that compares outside of hosting it myself, and that costs a lot more than $20 a year.

Re: Adventures in Ultralight Packing

Wait... so you only wash your clothes every 6 days?

Re: Social Media 101: Owning your name

Ribeezie is actually a great name to go with. Is it that much worse in the real estate business. I post my phone number and have never had spam from it (that I know of)

But I obviously agree. Make yourself reachable. That's the point of all this right? :)

Re: Do you own YOU?

No doubt about it. :D

Re: Do you own YOU?

Mayjah,
Yeah, I had this in the back of my head as I was writing this, so I will write that post as well. Part of what made me think it is Ron at RonAmok.com. So there are two other sides to this, one, making a new identity like you have with mayjah, and the other is having your brand attached to another brand, like Ron Ploof at RonAmok, but you own both brands. Both very valid and very useful.

Thanks for your reply, a great point, and a follow up post is needed. :)

Re: jeremyvaught.com is turning the corner

Thanks for the kind words Roseann! I think I will be me :)

As far as the camera goes, I have two suggestions. The N97 is a phone, not a camera. And while it is a great device, like my N95, I still desire better cameras. So my two suggestions are a Canon Elph and a Sony Xacti. The Canon takes video and fantastic photos, and Canon's are especially great at low light (ie indoor). The video is not bad at all, but it is an add on to a still frame camera. The Sony Xacti takes photos, and fantastic video. For links to the Sony, see a couple of posts ago. I've had a Canon and loved it. My girlfriend has one and she loves it. I have several friends with Xactis and they love them, in fact, Amazon sent me an email this morning that mine is on the way.

So I would say, do you need FANTASTIC pictures and pretty good video? Pick the Canon. Or do you need FANTASTIC video and pretty good pictures? Pick the Sanyo

Re: I have Xacti lust again

Oh snap! It is less than 1/3 the cost of the xacti, and fills a niche for sure. One of each would be a nice combo. :)

Re: Elephants

:D A Seesmic video, like the old days :) Thanks so much, and of course I stopped by the blog, I keep an eye on my friends. :) And I need to get a shirt like that! Their true intentions are hidden. The other side of that , is I try to follow people back that follow me, unless they are spammers or don't speak my language. However, if someone I don't know follows me and they have their updates protected, I rarely follow them back.

Re: Protected Twitter updates

haha, and thanks for the link to your protected twitter account. :) well played

Re: Feeling the love after my session at PodcampAZ

lol, everyone's a comedian. :)

Re: That annoying FriendFeed ‘feature’ people like

Marco is working on getting the extra functionality into Twhirl that is available on the website.

Re: Technology Trumps Government Once Again

I could say a lot more, but the point of your post is not an argument for a woman's choice to kill her kids or not.
