More than 50% of bottled water nowadays is nothing but municipal water that comes from the same source as your tap water. Except that you are paying up to 1000x as much for it. And very often it is not bacteria-free either. And how good is the plastic container for you? Especially when you leave it in the hot car or in the garage. The bottle hygienically seals in the quality - or the bacteria, which then adhere to the sides of the bottle and multiply until the organic matter has been used up. At least tap water is running water. If in doubt, boil the tap and put it in the refrigerator. It tastes a lot better than what comes out of those expensive plastic bottles!
