I too have now got it. I'm in the UK and not in a "network".

I did use the ratings feature, but was never too sure whether it had the effect of "down rating" stories from particular applications or particular users...

It was rather confusing for me - much more so than the "Hide this Story" issue you mentioned earlier today.

You're absolutely right Nick that perfectly satisfying both groups is at least questionable - and I would say impossible.

However, as they are each dependant on the other - Users dependant on developers to deliver good Apps that enhance the user experience; and developers dependant on users enjoying and promoting their apps - it is important that Facebook gets that balance as close to right as it can.

I believed it to mean that it wouldn't be displayed in my mini-feed (only).

However, I work in the Law, so perhaps I am more inclined towards assuming only that it does what it says within the context in which it says it.

It is pretty potty that Amazon can have an app that tracks your Amazon activity, but haven't thought about it having your affiliate code attached! That's very naive or rampant opportunism.

Either way, it doesn't make them look very clever.
