in Does Palm Pre have a chance against iPhone? IMO: No, but it probably doesn’t matter on Scobleizer
Again Scoble not doing research..

Have you talked to iPhonedevelopers lately?

Tides changing devlopers are witching to Android from iPhone dev..

Scoble it snot just the metaqdata but Ui change as well..

what is the most useful Ui change given the first affinity group search occured about 23 months ago at SWSX?

Think about what piece of metadata ranks it ideally for search user in each affinity group..

GPS! Thnink of how importnat this becomes on Mobile :)

Someone is doing it :)

in Why Yahoo’s announcement today won’t get as much hype as Google’s on Scobleizer
Again Robert you miss the Android connection..even Europe Mobile Industry Pubs have noticed the Android connection..

The Android Connection is this..what is the easiest way to convince say Verizon or AT&T Mobility to deploy Android handsets? Remember the MOS have already heard the T-Mobile results about the data plan usage climbing by 400% with Android.

A compelling GPS consumer application.

By the way, my Xspot Android app will be using the new Google Map features found in Google Latitude..and I am being interviewed by the Mobile Industry press about this..:)

You see Mike Arrington last August was right about Android..

in Welcome to Black January: Microsoft, Intel, IBM and others lay off tons on Scobleizer
Yes Robert I have an idea,

Many potential start ups have changed their tech implementations to require less seed capital.

While at the same time tech firms have laid off full time employees but often still have the need to have certain part time projects competed that require tech skills.

Why not exchange those project needs for an exchange in seed capital and the tech firm exchanging seed capital for project work being completed also gets stock in the potential start up?

You avpoid setting it up as a fund and thus keep it at high tech speed instead forming it as an ad-hoc arrangement or start up new VC social network..

My Biases: I am one of those potential startups that changed my tech implementation to be lower in dev costs and also seeking seed capital currently. My mobile app uses new hybrid mobile dev technology that relies upon web code base to make web app behave like a native mobile app using javascript to access GPS and etc. Yes, iPhone, Android, And Palm Pre stuff. why seed capital? To pay for several months dev so that I can present full demo to Fred Wilson, he already said yes to viewing it..

in Neil Young sings to his apple on Scobleizer
Robert,

I had to justify to certain VCs and etc that my web based code with one code base on Android and iPhone had merits.

Robert, polish up your stats skills and re-examinethe data of both Android and iPhone. Android is showing the same basic exponential growth curve of iPhone in all areas.

And Robert if you are going to trout out Neil at least tell a little interenet history that Neil was involved in..he probably still has Kai Krause's Synthesizers..:)

in Thanks Mike Arrington for taking us off the rails into Twitter idiot land on Scobleizer
Robert you forgot something,

Smart people are going to places like Google to get money as in my statup is geting some Google attention and I expect once the reading GPS from javascript on android video is up I expect hat turn into somewhat seed capital from Google..

Its an interesting story involving engineering excellence, clouds, social clouds, and mobile..

Yes, started doing video s of dev progress. probably the very first time a start up has been that transparent.

and Robert I would not call those who are non technical idiots or land o idiots as its somewhat not respecting where the money comes from..you do not see me calling my potential users idiots do YOU ROBERT?

Dev progress of Xpsot vids are at:

Robert,

To data points yo missed:

1. ANdroid G1 Sales reach 1 million in first 2.5 months.

2. Broadcom should have mentioned this, number 1 requested device non US and US as far as emerging markets is a Touchscreen device with Worldwide coverage ie double baseband chips to cover both GSM and CDMA protocols/versions. In other words a world wide CDMa phone has two baseband chips covering W-CDMA, CDMA 450, and etc.

in Things I’ve learned in China so far on Scobleizer
I think People fail to realize that the protectionist censorship philosophy has been rampant in China since China was first open to the west in the early 19th Century as a form of protection from invasion.

Thus the counter if to succeed would also have to philosophically have at its core the task of protecting China from perceived invasion..yes we all hate Xenophobia but in CHina its looke don as a Countries other military..

Hm only interested insmart data Robert?

You know during July I as in the GillMore Gang ustream chat room and was board and the whole gang watched a social experiment unfold where several of us posted rumor son FriendFeed to see who would be very unsmart and take that rumor and not verify it before running with it.

I seem to recall a certain Robert Scoble running full steam with that rumor rather take any time to verify it..

The lesson is not deleting people form your connections..

But verifying information received from connections before relying upon it..

Think back to last Summer where you were reacting on bad data because you refuse to do the work to verfiy it..Pot Calling Kettle Black comes to mind..

Scoble you lost all creditability now..sad..the site you pointed to was somewhat excellent in design execution and what they could convey at this time to the public.

in How to be a stealth site on Scobleizer
Congrats Scoble, you finally F'ing woke up somewhat..

Satire is a form of information and that is why even the lamest attempts at it do not get people banned for me following in some form to get information.

Atire also has its use in presenting start ups to the public. As Satire is usually the highest response getter if you make every effort to master the satire delivery. I f you look at how Loic uses satire in his presentation of Seesmic to the public you get the idea.

Her is to hoping that you continue to use your brain rather than knee jerk reactions, especially the one that got you caught up in a MS is buying Mahalo.com rumor several months ago..:)

in Comments Can Be Blog Posts on A VC
Fred,(always did like that as a first name:)) it sounds like you have a VC/Angel funding/Seed capital idea. if services Disqus, Seesmic, and etc are Web 2.0 enabled via api it could be done as a CMs/blog mashup platform.. Use say something like Ruby on Rails combined with datastore APIs instead of database servers and you could have it up and running in 4 months.

Its that 'sales conversation' in context of the conversation that affects sales..

For example ads on facebook do not work because they never enter the context of the conversation.. however..pay for services sales at LinkediN work because the sale is context of the ocurring conversation..

in Mike Arrington is Right, Facebook is Wrong on Scobleizer
Robert,

I want you to think back to a post you did after a meeting with facebook on Data Portability issues. In that post you stated that facebook explained to you that the issues are hard to solve.

Which means that yes Facebook will make mistakes and so will Google and etc.

But, which mistake has greater damage:

1. Facebook failing to block someone and thus someone loosing their data/identity to fraud or etc

or

2. Facebook making a mistake in blocking someone or company and than correcting the mistake later.

Sorry Robert, I like you but I trust facebook's expertise in this before yours as it seems that even when they goof its a lessor of two evils.

in Is "Social Enterprise Software" An Oxymoron? on A VC
That is why the friends control features on sits like facebook are getting play..and the complimentary trend along with that is the increase companies coming out with enterprise facebook apps that share sap data and etc via the facebook platform..

I am not saying that there are not obstacles had that other people have already pointed out. I think part of it may be using video media such as seesmic and others to build a transparent conversation with enterprise users and customers so that that transparency translates into enterprise customers feelign that their concerns about security and etc are in fact held in high esteem and concern.

in Facebook continues to suck on Scobleizer
Some people seem to be jumping before reading something in its full form..

Somehow Facebook has to manage their resources so that everyone gets to use it not just power users.

It was not just that the person was sending messages promoting a site but that then umber of messages was quite high beyond a normal user..

Scoble, compare them to Comcast which has better PR response..I think we know who wins facebook as comcast would never ever reverse their decisions would they?

And if you read the follow up you see the person in question has found a better way to said actions and follow facebook tos by using groups..

So next before we jump off the cliff, lets read a little before we make that conclusion jump..
