Will enjoy reading if/when you return. I on the other hand am being cheap this year and have returned to a wordpress hosted blog...

I'm sitting on the fence, gathering splinters, too. I've installed Chrome on my XP box, but nowhere else as of yet. It seems to be working fine so far - although there are obvious missing interface elements at this stage (bookmarks are a good example).

On the Mac I still use Safari almost exclusively - mainly because it's so damn fast compared to anything else.

I beg to differ. Why should other virus scanning applications be able to have far less effect on a machine, and still catch the same viruses just as reliably ?

The real issue here is the pathetic security inherent within Windows, and the farcical requirement to run multiple applications purely designed to bolster Windows from external threats.

I got home earlier than I thought - and got to read them all bedtime stories. They met me at the station and actually knocked me to the ground - much to the amusement of fellow travellers - a blog post when I get around to it :)

Did you get a chance to try the simulator?

I just read the majority of your post out to the guys at work - cue much laughing, and re-telling of spending stories. Excellent post :)

I just implemented Disqus on my blog after thinking about it for a few days. It's not been an easy decision - mostly due to the "giving up your comment ownership" aspect of it.

You are right though - there are just too many plusses.

... and disqus seems like a very persuasive commenting solution too.

I think they are doing the right thing - holding their hands up. Better than keeping shtum.

I'm waiting for Jaiku to re-appear from the Google underbelly. It was always *far* better than Twitter.

I discovered the King of Shaves stuff last year - in particular their oil and shaving gel. It made a *huge* difference, and when I blogged about it, they sent me a ton of their products.
