Fair questions, all ;-)

The mic's an RE27, same one Rush Limbaugh uses. And yes, that's 90% of the reason I bought it (love his tone).

I purchased it through Guitar Center through a rep I've worked with a few times before. It retails for something like $450 but I was able to get it for around $400 shipped.

In terms of my voice, the sound is definitely fuller as compared to a cheaper condenser (vis a vis a low-end AKG) and the tone is much fuller in the lower register. That was important to me because it's that bassy, present sound I'm gunning for.

Still I'm only halfway to the tone I'm after, but I think a good vocal processor will do the trick. I've heard good things from a few broadcasters about the Symetrix 528e... any input from your end?

I think it's most interesting to look at the conditions those cars had to contend with, given the cities and paved roads we know today weren't so ubiquitous in the early 1900's. I can't imagine leaving my front door and hopping on a dirt road to buy groceries or head into town... don't even think my car could weather it if I tried. Pretty amazing to realize that cars from 100 years ago were able to do so without a problem.

That downhill tumble at 4:55 reminds me of a modern day SUV commercial.

Gah! I'd kill to go back. My stomach rumbles every time I think of that tuna steak with the shrimp sauce.

For the records, it's rumbling for two reasons. Because wow does Nakama have a "kick butt, take no prisoners" approach to your tum tum. Just something I've noticed.

You've got to realize that there are no real factors of production involved/no resources wasted with something like this. Money changes hands, but the value doesn't disappear.

It's not like they're burning the wealth so *no one* will be able to put it to productive use -- they're just transferring it from one agent to the next.
