in Fair Use vs. Copyright - Shooting Down Pictures on Jandy's Meanderings
Jandy, I'm glad you posted this...I think that it certainly an important topic, and one of that will be a tricky area to regulate.

i guess youtube was taking the safe route, but it's unfortunate because so many large companies like youtube, and blogs could easily decide that because you include a photo or a quote, or a sound clip or x, y, or z that it could potentially be copy-write infringement. that's dumb & unfortunate.

in One Prayer - Blog on One Prayer
I can't wait to see how God is going to move.

My wife and I are praying and look forward to praying over this world altering event in our small group as we seek God in prayer, fasting, serving, and giving!

Good call on Strawberry Milk being Princess Milk!

But a princess cow? Princess golf shoes?

I don't know about those!

in Movie Review: “Iron Man” (2008) on Pop Critics
You're absolutly right...Downey was great in those monologue scenes with the robots...honestly, i hadn't really thought about them much...way to notice that.

also, it will be interesting to see what Jon Fevrue does next...will he do the sequel, or something totally different?

in Guess What We Saw At The Dallas Aquarium on Building Camelot
When I was a kid, the aquarium at the zoo was NOT the first place I wanted to go. Hooray for Disney for creating some turtle-fandom...I bet they sort of felt left out compared to the large mammals.

Gotta admit myself, that the Mere Cats and Warthogs suddenly were much more interesting to me after seeing Lion King.

in Dirty Streams and Broken Towns: Richard Russo’s Upstate Social Order on newcritics
I wrestle with whether I like Russo's books. I respect them, that's for sure.

But at the same time the pastoral and heavy character driven dramas that he weave are insightful, but not gripping.

They take a time and a motivation not always required by other authors.

I wonder who else will be included as directors in these six episodes...

gotta say i'm impressed so far...would love to see some other big names to make these 6 episodes unique.

in Ryan Gosling cast in Peter Jackson’s The Lovely Bones on /Film
No Elijah Wood? This is an interesting choice, namely because Gosling seems young to be a 14 year olds father...but it's the unconventional choices that seem to work well sometimes.

in X-Files Sequel on The Unwasted Life
From everything I've read, i feel like it will be very hard to have a second x-files movie that has gillian anderson playing her role as dana scully.

My friend at jonsampson.blogspot.com just linked over to this post of yours and i've got to say it's hillarious, and totally make sense to me.

just be afraid when most relevant magazine comes out...that's probably a sign of the anti-christ :-)

I'm glad to see you too were impressed with this film.

I was as well, it is a powerful film that deserves recognition and viewing.

This is totally worth while film making.

Saying Brad Pitt was sensational in Babel is a little strong (I would say) I think the only super strong performance in Babel with Barraza. She was amazing!

in The Longest Comment Thread Ever on ETC: Everyday Thoughts Collected
Ewww...ewww...ewww...I want to add my comment, glad to find this blog.
I was searching blogs that dealt with community and found this one, since I have recently been thinking (and posting some) about concepts of community especially in film and media in general.
Today our pastor resigned...that was wierd and unexpected...nothing too crazy, he's going to a parachurch ministry...the only thing bad is he's only been at our church for 11 months. I was on the pastor search team...it last 18 months.
Love for you to check out my blog.

in The Guts To Leave The Temple on [mturro: in plain sight]
Karen's opinions are uneducated.

I understand the concept she is weaving but there is no one over the age of 10 who believes in Santa Claus...but through out generations people have testified to the hand of God and people of all ages have experienced God in ways they have and haven't tried to escribe.

The same can not be said about Santa Clause.

in Crash…The Academy Award Winner? on Disneybear
Interesting post, i still haven't seen brokeback...but i love the movie Grand Canyon and you are the 2nd person I've read that compared it to that film.

I like Magnolia tons too...but this multi-character story was a little less intriguing...although I must admit there were a few select very good scenes.
