"Hey, we're nice to women, see how often they show up on our studio telecasts? See how often we promote the WNBA?"

Foudy = ESPN's defensive posture

Re: Karthik’s Observations - Premier League Week I

Too much said about Torres? You've gotta be kidding me. Guy scores an incredible 33 goals in his debut season and then follows it up by rescuing at least two additional points for his club on opening day on the road against an improved team. You expect people to just ignore that?

Agbonlahor got his play. Ashton got his. Ince got ink. Villa got plenty. Spiderman is everywhere. The stories that deserved coverage got coverage. Torres scored a great goal, and it was shown about 45 minutes into the Fox Soccer review show. Didn't seem out of whack to me.

Re: Review: Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skulls

Just awful. I laughed out loud at parts that weren't intentional comedy. I couldn't believe Lucas, Spielberg and Ford all signed off on this nonsense. I think my biggest problem with it was the fact that there was basically no mystery-solving -- they just follow the old guy! He's done this before! He knows the way! Dude, I can do that.

Re: Review: My Morning Jacket - “Evil Urges”

Saw 'em at Radio City last night. They really fucked that place up. The Dondante is still lingering in my head. The last hour was FACEMELTING shit, no doubt. I think I have Post Traumatic Stress Disorder today.

I must say, I'm still not in love with some of the new material. I think that made the show really really good but not spectacular. But none of it is bad. I just don't think it measures up with the older stuff. In any event, it didn't matter, because if you play 2 hours and 40 minutes straight, you're allowed a song or two that doesn't match up to the rest of the show. Unreal.

Sitting fourth row for MMJ @ RCMH is something I won't forget for a LONG time.

Re: 2008 Mercury Prize nominations announced

Don't be doggin' Alex Turner...I love that guy.

Re: Did Michael Phelps really win that 100m butterfly?

Don't know, don't care...he won and that's that. I'll tell you, though, the Phelps Backlash is pretty disgusting. We finally get a winner and a growing minority shits all over it. The hardest thing to do is to win when you're expected to win. Might as well celebrate the guy who finally does it.

Hate to pimp, but more: http://rebirthofslack.blogspot.com/2008/08/hati...
