unless you want #2 and #4 separate, it sounds like you should just make 2 separate websites, one for technical things and one for happy/sappy/sad things with a link to a more social page. and just put the work into building them.
but then you wouldnt be able to complain about them :) which is ultimately more fun and usually the turn my life takes.....

Jim Reverend I think you're right. 2 websites would be best. I can update the social page with a little "hey, I added a blog entry" deal whenever I update my other sites. The social page will be the culmination of all the daniel sites, but only in brief with links back for more reading.

I think this is the best idea yet. You rock.

expectations are a necessary evil. what, i think, is more important is being able to clearly communicate what those expectations or needs are to the people you need them from. often we get hurt because someone didnt do what we needed them to do, but they couldnt read our mind, so how would they know. well, if they were right for us and loved us as we loved them then they would just know, right! no. they were thinking of something else. or maybe they were thinking of us, but we wanted something different this time around. people want to feel secure and they want to know what they should do - like children, but not in a bad way - so if we are more clear- ie. if you did the dishes when ive been really busy then ill know you love me, etc. etc. , then our relationships would be happier and more fulfilling. i dunno, i just read this self help book, the four agreements, and it was fantastic and it dealt a lot with simple communication and not making assumptions. because im always like, well if i have to ask you to do something or ask for what i need then you just dont understand and so im going to suffer quietly and be really passive aggressive and unhappy. and that sucks. so im learning to just ask.

Jim Reverend This is true. It is better to mention our expectation. I guess I have
trouble in even realizing that I'm having them. Then, in some cases, I
have trouble mentioning them because part of the expectation is that I
won't have to do so.

Thank you for your thoughts.

im totally happy for you! ive known people who have down various types of cleanses and have much better, physically and mentally. but please, if you begin to feel dizzy or lightheaded- eat something! or add bit of salt to your water! these cleanses tend to be very low in sodium and tell you to drink gallons of water- you can get very sick (i.e. brain damage, death) when you dont ingest enough salt AND drink loads of water. its called water intoxification if you want to check it out. i dont want to be a negative nancy, as these cases are very rare- just wanted to make sure your know about the possibility. ive been wanting to do one myself, but never have enough time off. maybe ll just have to take the plunge. keep me posted on how you do :)

Jim Reverend Thanks! I'm actually doing pretty well. Quite a bit of residual sodium and
only about 100oz of water each day. I've been the exact opposite of dizzy
and light-headed. I'm generally that way and this has made me more stable
and I have more energy too. The only negative so far have been headaches
but, a) I get those almost every day anyway and b) I'm probably suffering
caffeine withdrawal.

Time off for this would be good. But, I'm trying to do it while working.
That's probably going to be the most difficult aspect. I'm going to have to
get up quite early to get it all out of the way before I leave for work
every day.

you remember im the talking map. need any help and ill tell ya-- rule of thumb the train is almost always faster between the hours of 7am and 10pm.... too much damn traffic :) also, remember the freedom of first driving a car by yourself-- now you get to experience that feeling all over again as adult - freedom from the car :) and unless you are in a really really bad neighborhood (unlikely) dont be afraid to ask questions- i ask people for directions all the time, i feel like its the ones who look afraid to ask that are the tourists :)
oh, and i really love the last 3 pics, especially the one in the coffee shop-- speaking of which there is a starbucks on every corner here, so you should feel at home.
