in Ward Connerly may pull the plug on affirmative action bans on The Colorado Independent
"Connerly also credited Corry, the director of the Colorado Civil Rights Initiative, with convincing him to launch the proposal in Colorado."
Wow, yet another amazingly strong example of how little the views of Corry and the rest of the Independence Institute functionaries resonate with the views of Coloradans.

in Americans for American Energy: declaring victory one eco-terrorist at a time on The Colorado Independent
What Schnacke, the former longtime head of Colorado's oil and gas industry association, won't tell you is that the "terrorist" nations of Canada and Mexico accounted for more than HALF of the imported oil sent to the United States by the top 5 foreign suppliers so far this year, and generally are among our three biggest foreign suppliers.
Schnacke also won't be heard calling on the United States to halt arms sales to Saudi Arabia, which he apparently lumps in with Venezuela as one of the oil sources that, to repeat the tired GOP talking point, "don't like us very much."
What a tool. Schnacke was a jackass when he was student body president at the University of Kansas and not much seems to have changed.

billm, will you please take a few minutes to cite your sources regarding Canada and Mexico's oil imports to the U.S., as well as your note about the arms sales to SA? Also, did you happen to know Schnacke at UofK?
Thank you. I appreciate the information.

I hope someone pointed this interview out to the Amendment 58 folks; it might help with their messaging.

in Colorado Republican Romeo stripped of $120K during RNC on The Colorado Independent
You left you this telling comment from the Denver Post profile of this person, which was part of its list of all the RNC delegates from Colorado (http://www.denverpost.com/ci_10340860). Schwartz's highlight of the 2004 RNC was seeing Jack Weil flip off someone exercising their right of free speech. Great. From the Post:
"What's the one experience you MUST have during the convention?" In 2004 in New York, my dear friend Jack Weil and I were being interviewed by The Post while standing in line to a Broadway show, there were protesters across the street screaming some sort of nonsense, Jack politely gave the protesters the middle finger. It was a great experience.
