Superwoman!

Re: Cookbooks

Guess I need to add all my cookbooks to librarything and compare notes! I leave recipes all over the house too. I thought we librarian types were supposed to be organized. :-)

Re: Yahoo! I too was lost when I first looked at Yahoo Pipes, and haven't had time to get back to it. Like you said, reading the instructions helps! :-)

Re: It’s like heaven for librarians (and booklovers)

Very cool idea! What a dizzying photo. They need some cushions for the steps. I could see sitting on them a lot.

Re: What’s it like to work from home

Welcome to the world of the home office! I'm impressed, at your desk at 7am! My hours are a bit different. :-) But I love working from home, been doing it for 11 years now. Lots of flexibility and frankly, I think I get more done. But I do miss the people sometimes. So lots of lunch meetings. And strangely, even though I don't post much on twitter, just dipping in there now and then lets me know others are out there.. somewhere....

Re: Going Green

If I'm doing a short session that's just demo/talking/chatting, I go paperless and direct participants to my wiki for links and other info. I've only had one complaint, the person was really quiet distressed and informed me that speakers always provide copies of slides. It was an interesting moment!

That said, for my full-day/hands-on sessions, I still provide handouts. I get a wide range of skill levels in my classes and I find a handout helps people work at their own pace and lets me help the people who need the most help. Evaluation comments consistently thank me for the handouts. Still, I hate all the paper I'm using. Lots of it ends up shredded and put in my compost heap!

Re: Another big name online office suite

I have a similar problem with their opening page.
Windows XP Pro 5.1.2600 SP2
Firefox 2.0.0.14
flash 9.0.115.0

Re: Print versus Online

Interesting, I too went to the Business Week site to read it and had no problem. Thanks for taking the time to post all the great blog posts. So good to be able to read about what's going on. Hope you get some rest!

Re: A new project for me!

What a great project! Congrats. And neat idea to build a wiki as a "collaborative collaboration" - very meta-meta and escher-ish! :-)

Re: My Great Nan

So sorry for you loss. How wonderful that you knew your great-grandmother though. What a rare privilege.
