Sounds like a good start to a career in the field of genetics. Do make sure you continue on with your education.

So you are saying this person is going to have a sequencer in a van? They will have a PCR in the van? I disagree with it being a good idea.

Maybe I'm just not picking up on some sarcasm or something.

Andrew Yates PCR. I'd have to look at the test, but it is probably a relatively straightforward PCR blot test. And yes, it is a bad idea, but so is "raging against the machine" in general. Besides, you could do the tests from the comfort of FedEx and your garage!

in Stock Response to How 23andMe May Be Used In Medicine on Think Gene
In other words, one just pays for a test to collect information that is just there and can't be used if one doesn't want to violate their contract? If so, what a waste of money by a consumer.

Andrew Yates One pays for the test results exactly. 23andMe the company refuses all responsibility and accountability for anything that test may mean. So, if you want to look some scientific report about yourself, then that's good, because that's what you bought. If you expected more, like health care or medical advice, then that's bad, because there isn't more.

Andrew Yates I have scattered drafts written, so hopefully by the end of this week. After they are published here, I'll probably support it with references and compile it all into one paper.

That was an ok reading. Only advice: ease up the writing style....less big words and more every day words.

Andrew Yates Generally. I do write simpler, and I know tech and Internet savvy people are not impressed by this style of writing (I'm generally not personally), but physicians are.

I looked at this "Webicina" webpage a couple of days ago. My first thought was, huh? Than I closed the website. I think I've said enough now.
