It was either a cheaper local car at about 33k or a pricier imported car around the 50-60k range. The difference in monthly installments over a 7 year period was at least RM 100 a month. It was really tempting to get a nicer and supposedly better car but I felt I'd better start off at the low end since I was just starting out in life. Its been just over a year and I can see that it was a wise decision at the time. Over a 12-month period, I spend roughly about 1k a month, inclusive of road tax, insurance, maintanence, and petrol. If i had gotten a "nicer" car, it would easily cost me 50% more a month.

Re: Richest Malaysians: TOP 20

What I would be more interested to see is how they end up regardless of all that wealth.

Re: Maybank Greetings

1) Yes they do know how many people are logged in at any 1 time.

2) The company I work for is in the midst of revamping the entire site... so stay tuned!!

Re: EON Bank - We Focus On You

I faced the exact same thing with TM Streamyx. I recently lodged a complaint ( after numerous tries ) to TM. I terminated my account and phone line last year in April. Suddenly at the beginning of this month, TM sends me a bill saying I owe them almost RM 200! Since then i've been trying to call their customer service and have always been put on hold. Usually I will wait no longer than 3 minutes and I will hang up. I waited about 10 minutes each time and I repeatedly tried to call in several times the following few weeks. Obviously their online form did not work either. After hitting the submit button, I was given an auto response saying the email no longer exists... and instead of notifying me and forwarding my email to the correct address, the system just left me hanging. Finally, using the correct email address, I sent them a complaint. The response I got from that email was,

"Our system states your account is still active and we found there was a connection made after 28th April 2007. Please provide us with your termination slip for further action."

Knowing that alot of people tend to throw away or even misplace their receipts... I cant help but wonder if its a company wide conspiracy to intentionally "forget" these important details. This is not the first time I've had trouble with TM. Some time after I terminated my phone line and streamyx account, I was given a letter informing me that I had not returned everything when I received my free phone. Why would I want to keep a phone or any part of it when I no longer use a land Line?

I've already replied their customer email with a scanned copy of my termination slip. Now I'm waiting to see what excuse they will give me.

Re: KFC - The Chicken People

I experienced the same problem with our 'beloved' TM. I sent an email to various email address I found on the site. Only to receive an auto response that says something like this:

"we are no longer using that email address... please revert to this alternative email address..."

Of course I forward the same email to the alternative email address... and thats the last I've heard of it. Its not only frustrating and infuriating... but it just shows how fundamentally flawed and incompetent TM's corporate thinking is. Its pretty much the same at most government offices and especially in schools.

Sadly, our country will not achieve true world class status until our leaders and general population have a paradigm shift in their thinking.

Re: Accidents

I have seen those chairs sold at Avenue K. Costs about RM 4500 each. I've also sat in one before and its just extremely comfortable. If you can afford one and if I'm not mistaken... it comes with a 10 year warranty.
