Well, I do! (don't?)

Scooped! Well done.

I suck.

Hell, I'm practically on vacation anyway.

morganlevy We must both be pretty lazy. The Nashville Post posted the permit thing on June 5 and I just realized yesterday that some others might actually be interested in knowing.

The SCA crowds in Elmington seem to be getting bigger and better-armed every Sunday. It's gotten to where I'm scared to ride my bike by for fear of being maced. With a real mace.

As one of the few folks who have actually left comments before there were freebies on the line, I certainly hope the Gods of Random Number Generating will smile upon me! 8^)

in Happy Hour: Take One For The Team on Nashvillest
Of course Bredesen did spend $10 million on a governor's mansion that he won;T live in because it's crappier than the house he already owned when he was elected...

But I'm not one of those crazy right wingers who g nuts over the bunker. I do believe Tennessee's executive mansion should be presentable. I'd say the same thing about the clubhouse in a state park.

I'm pretty sure Bredesen has refused to take any salary since he was first elected, so there's not a lot of savings to do there.

Take THAT, Kentucky.

Christy Frink Seriously? I'd totally never heard that! Bredesen FTW.

Ironically, I can't see the picture of Kenny Chesney's "girlfriend," because it is obscured by a Plumgood Foods ad touting deliveries on Saturday. Not this Saturday.

Christy Frink Ha! Poor Plumgood. :(

Have no fear, though. You can scope her out here: http://www.misstennesseeusa.com/halloffame.html

Correction-the Titans/Oilers are 8-7 vs. those dirty birds of Baltimore. We've won two of the last eight going back to 2000. Not stellar, but not an oh-fer either.

And we should add one more win next weekend. Go Titans!

Christy Frink Ah, you're right! I misread the Tennessean's blurb:

"The Titans have lost six of their past eight meetings with the Ravens, including two of the past three in Baltimore."

Hi Lucas! You're a darned good-looking young dude. (Excellent C-section side effect BTW.) I hope your family is recovering well and welcome to Nashvegas!

Good luck, Mitch! You know what they say about C-Section babies: They're totally like all other kids except for a proclivity to want to leave buildings by crawling through the window.

No worries. That was just a story about when he was still a Titan and we're all trying to put that memory in the past. Deep in the past.

in Review: Petty Driving Experience Orlando: Drive It Like You Stole It on Gear Diary
I got to do the ride along in Vegas as part of a convention I was attending. We had extra passes in our group so I rode twice. the second time the driver asked how close I wanted to get to the wall and before I could answer he slid up and brushed it.

I'm not sure if it was a scream of horror or a squeal of ecstasy, but they couldn't wipe the grin off my face for a half hour.

Now you've got me pumped to do the whole schmeer.

Great story!

Holy crap! That's what we all look like?

That was truly epic. Great job, guys! A fitting tribute for a wonderful lady. Who apparently has invented the ultimate gadget she's not sharing with the rest of us...a machine to stop aging.

Yet, in Brazil, they spell it "Brasil." Why don't we just spell it like they spell it? It's not like we couldn;t read it or pronounce it. I never understood other countries' (USA included) need to translate foreign names into their own native language.

You bring up a good point.

Thanks, Web. I lost my Dad two days before Father's Day in 2005. Your post gives me another reason to think of him, and I always appreciate that.

Eloquently said. Good luck with the school year!
