in Do You Want In On Live Mesh? on sarahintampa
Good one, Sarah. I would love to get meshing! Since I use laptop at work, a beefy desktop at work (my backup where all my data from laptop using vista sync) and then have couple of usb drives that are hooked into my home pc then sync using sync toy. Since drives are bulky to carry, the only way for me to connect and retrieve data would be vpn. What is the point of duplicating data on laptop which will get synced to work laptop! In this equation my moblie devices are left out. I use zune, nokia e65 (personal) for gmail, exchange sync and off the fly photos. I have not bothered syncing.... and then there is my work mobile which I use for exchange (mails) and notes (outlook). All of this leaves out anything that I would like to share with SharePoint community or even other bloggers. For that I have to use skydrive.
Ideally I would love to have a master sync. I want to see how mesh is different from Groove! I am using groove at the moment but just to backup, not sycn (purpose lost) :-)

I'd appreciate the invite to see if my e-life can be meshed :-)

Cheers!

in Ads on the Home Page? on The Marketing Technology Blog
Happy Thanksgiving!

That is indeed a nice technique you have adopted here. Why not use adserver? I am sure that your advertisers can track the clicks themselves :-)

Does it mean that removing TLA will get our PR back? I have gone from 4 to 2! Duh!

in Clicky launches Google Gadget on The Marketing Technology Blog
I am a BIG FAN of clicky. I'd love it more if somehow popular posts could be generated from clicky to be displayed on the site - inheriting css.
I ain't a coder, but I'd love if someone could do this *hint hint*

in WordPress: Post WordPress Releases Automatically on The Marketing Technology Blog
Hi Doug,

Good idea. Further to that, I know for sure, this idea of post by email for wordpress does not work very well.

So i would recommend BlogMailr
http://alpesh.nakars.com/blog/2006/11/08/blogrm...

This works fine as can be seen from my post.

Cheers!

No worries. Yes, would love to read what others have to say. Are you planning to have your comments 'open id' ed ;-)

Douglas Karr I don't think so. I've seen where any login on comments often results in less comments. Comments are an important component of a blog and lead to increased Search Engine placement because the page changes and gets reindexed. In fact, quite the opposite, I encourage more folks to comment by utilizing No Nofollow.

I don't want to do anything to impede anyone from making comments. If OpenID goes mainstream and people get used to logging in for comments, it may change my mind.

Regards,
Doug

Aha,
Another plugin. I was referring to OpenID by Verselogic.

Which one could be better? :-)

Cheers!

Douglas Karr I'm not sure! Perhaps some other readers can join in on the conversation. No doubt that both are capable... OpenID really is quite a simple technology that could be easily adapted into a plugin. Thanks for the addition!

Have you looked at using the wp plugin for openid?

As I see that your users at the moment, need not have openid to comment.

Is that right?

Cheers!
