John Cornyn is going to rescue the youth vote for the GOP!?!? Yeah that'll happen. Anyway the racist wing of the party just went south, all that's left now is the country clubbers and the die hard conservatives, maybe 20 percent of the electorate.

If there's a worse president or a worse party than George Bush and his GOP, I haven't seen it. How ANY republican got re elcted is beyond me, except maybe in Utah or Idaho. The old confederacy certainly hasn't profited by them, nor Texas.

I have no doubt that President Obama is smarter than any of the ankle biters, such as Boehner, nipping at his heels. I predict his first term will be a smashing success. After all, even with all the economic pain we are in right now, we still have one of the best economic infrastructures in the world. It's just a matter of finding a smart, ethical, and pragmatic leader to synthesize the best of conservative and liberal policies to take advantage of our, for lack of a better word, advantages. Obama hits on all 3 criteria.

My guess is, if McCain loses, she will not be re-elected in Alaska but rather will concentrate on 2012. Again, if McCain loses, the republican party is going to retrench, with Palin at the head of the religious right and either Romney (most likely) or Guiliani out in front for what's left of the moderate wing. It remains to be seen which wing will prevail, again it's just a guess but it seems to me the religious right is on the wane, their hypocrisy cannot survive the youtube age. It also may be, god willing, that the religious right turns to the AIP or some other rump party and separates entirely from the republicans after 2012.

If McCain wins she becomes the odds on favorite for 2012. If that happens I plan to get drunk for a few nights, then roll up my sleeves and get back to work...

I would like to defend my state, but since our governor is a dimwitted B movie star, and a republican, I can't. I still cannot bring myself to believe that it will go red this year though...

Republican heads must be about to explode trying to reconcile everything coming out about Palin, against everything they've been taught to believe for the last 30 years. If they weren't such self righteous busybodies, I could almost feel sorry for them.
