CarrieM it took me four years to be open to dating, wasn't ready, I'm not sure one is ever ready. What helped was I told everyone I knew to spread the word, met my husband through friends!

Aloha LaLou,

I've always found that my friendships have started based on proximity or common interests. Anyone interesting at work or where you live? What are your hobbies or things that you want to try? Depending on what you can afford, take classes, join a group that does hikes, check out events at museums or theaters, etc. I recently started running with the Niketown Running Club and have met some really nice people through that. I wish you luck. It does get harder as you get older to make close friends, but if you make a few, it's worth it!

I am an amazing friend. I'm loyal, generous, supportive, the social coordinator, the fun instigator, I have a great set of ears and love to give and get hugs. I always remember birthdays, although I might be a day late. I have had a large number of my friends for AGES, and I love them all with all my heart.

"How I Met Your Mother," "Project Runway," and "Mad Men" are all shows that I set aside time to watch, especially since I don't have a DVR. My roommate and I also got hooked on the trainwreck that was "The Two Coreys."

I would like a life/career coach to help me figure out my next move - where to go and what kind of job to look for - before the end of this year. Yeah, I know, not the greatest time to be looking for a job!

Prince on the Musicology tour. You would never think that a 5'4" androgynous man in a purple suit and higher heels than I would ever consider wearing would be so freaking sexy. He is an amazing performer and entertainer!

People should actually feel able to use the vacation time they are given. And along those same lines, the Europeans have the right idea in giving people more vacation days than most companies provide in the U.S.

This quote got me through a very rough patch last year. I would read it every night before trying to fall asleep.
