As everyone now knows, the iPhone trademark is owned by Cisco. We (Cisco) had hoped to reach an agreement to share our trademark with Apple, yet they decided to use the name without our agreement, so we, unfortunately, are having to go to court to stop them from using the name. We still hope we can reach an agreement, but when your neighbor steals your property, you have no recourse other than to call the cops and file a complaint. Full Cisco statement at: http://newsroom.cisco.com/dlls/2007/corp_011007.ht ml

For a tick-tock and more rationale for the suit, please read our SVP and General Counsel Mark Chandler's blog entry here: http://blogs.cisco.com/news/2007/01/update_on_cisc os_iphone_tradem.html

He states, in part, "this is not a suit against Apple's innovation, their modern design, or their cool phone. It is not a suit about money or royalties. This is a suit about trademark infringement."

Re: CWA Blog Claims Credit for FCC Data Order, But Ignores Local Company Data

So, I'm a bit out of the tech policy game, but just posted on this issue utilizing Thomas the Tank Engine as a tortured hook: http://blogs.cisco.com/news/comments/thomas_the...

Re: 2007/10/19/cisco-sn/

Dan Scheinman, GM of Cisco's Media Solutions Group blogs on his team's efforts here: http://blogs.cisco.com/news/2007/10/network_web...

He states, in part, "Cisco’s network assets are relevant to Web 2.0, particularly in the entertainment space...(and) Network + Web 2.0 assets can help address the most challenging problem of the next era: how to find anything."

Re: 2008/02/21/muni-wifi/

You can take a video tour of the "connected bus" on Cisco's blog here: http://blogs.cisco.com/news/2008/02/video_take_...

Re: Top 5 Ways to Share Videos on Twitter

I'm obviously biased, as I work at Cisco, but I think every PR pro should have a Flip (or, ahem, Flip-like) video camera for PR and social media...including media training, vlogging, etc. And, yes, for bubbletweet or these other twitter video services.

http://blogs.cisco.com/news/comments/why_the_fl...

Re: PRSA Digital Impact: Tracking Social Media Trends

Think this is relevant to this discussion...

Driven by the use of video on the web, Cisco today released a study that estimates that “IP traffic will increase at a combined annual growth rate (CAGR) of 46 percent from 2007 to 2012, nearly doubling every two years.
