I’m actually glad you posted your opinion on the subject. I didn’t realize at the time, but this tool has stirred up some great conversations. I actually created this tool to give me the reason to switch to Identi.ca full time, just as you wrote. I’ve been wanted to leave Twitter ever since my account was locked for too many followers. At that point I realized the potential problems that could be caused by the standard micro-blogging platform being controlled by a single company, especially from a developers standpoint. However I didn’t want to abandon my connections on Twitter. Eventually I do plan to drop my bridge as well and make the full switch with no cord, but in the meantime this gave me the reason I needed to make the switch to Identi.ca
