Unrelated to this post specifically, why does it seem that http://soccer-premier.lemonup.com/ is reposting everything you ever write on this blog?

One thing they could improve upon is their rights to broadcast "southern hemisphere" rugby instead of displaying that dreaded static message whenever they can't. I have only seen this early in the morning prior to the first Saturday footy game kickoff, but oh, is it annoying! I also hope the rumors of DISH are accurate, as I am ready to give up my ITVN subscription and its crappy quality.

That's interesting about Wigan. I wonder if they are opening up bidding for stadium naming rights, too? One has to think that JJB wouldn't be too happy about losing the uniform rights.

The home kit looks great. The shirt looks like it actually fits, unlike this year's shirt, with its oversized baggy look with a collar opening so big it looks like it was made for Charlie Brown. The away kit is rubbish.

Tottenham v. Bolton should be fun, but I'll pass on the rest of FSC's offerings.

Barca's La Liga form simply bubbled over into this match. That was evident by the amount of bickering and whinging they did after every call that went against them. Get on with playing the game the way it was meant to be played and they will win the return game. I doubt it happens, though.

Good points, all. I'm a little concerned about how the face of soccer broadcasting could change next year, particularly for my beloved EPL.


This year, I had to go to a bit of an extreme and signed up for ITVN service in order to get Setanta (I am a DISH Network subscriber). While I am thrilled to have the service, the broadcasts are soft and pixelated (probably doesn't help that I'm watching it on an HDTV set); but a bigger issue than that is that it takes my DVR out of the equation, which was fine when ITVN had Setanta on-demand, but apparently that ruffled some feathers, so now I have to catch a live broadcast or a replay. Next season it seems that even more of the choice matches are moving to Setanta, so this becomes even more of a concern for me. I hope, hope, hope that DISH and Setanta work out an agreement so I can ditch the ITVN box.



Another great channel for those of us with DISH HD is the World Sport channel. I am generally not a fan of La Liga, but damn, it is nice to watch the "big games" live in HD. Can I have SkySports HD, please? ;)
