I can't help but smell rat.

I truly wish that more people were covering the key difference between the numbers of "blue collar working white people" who have voted for Obama and the "Appalachian" voters. Big difference, obviously.


Personally, I think it's much more beneficial for him to target the older white women who are extremely invested in Clinton's candicacy and let the Appalachians be.

Every time I read one of your posts from the road, I just well up a little. I knkow that you're doing what you're doing as much for yourself as anyone but I want to remind you how much it means to all of us, even the ones that don't realise it yet.

Racists are afraid that minorities will rise up, band together, take all their jobs, their neighborhoods, their schools, their way of life.


Fear of retribution is what drives much of racist behaviour because the racist knows in his gut that where he stands is a wrong place to be and he "earned" it on the backs and with the pain of the many that were beaten, killed, robbed and just plain old denied.

I've said elsewhere that I have looked to Brazile and Clyburn as my lighthouses through these past months. They have behaved in an exemplary manner, in ALL ways. They've done their jobs to the letter, with grace and diplomacy while retaining every bit of dignity that anyone could ever wish for. I too wondered if they were both Clinton loyalists but I was unable to detect just who they were rooting for until very recently, and that is as it should be.


Noone in the party can in any way say that they put their personal preference or some sort of political chicanery above their duties to both the Democratic Party or to their own stated principles.



To see them now be able to fully confirm what they have plainly wished for and to do so with no reservation or pandering whatsoever, bless them both and I just wish that there were fifty more like them.

Noonan has always gotten Obama's appeal. Whatever differences she has with his candidacy are about his policy and economic views. Whether you agree with Ms. Noonan or not she is a wordsmith that has few peers in today's newspapers and she knows the power of words and ideas.


She and Cokie Roberts are two of my favourite older women. They display grace, wit, intelligence and courtesy to spare and have both crafted careers that any feminist would be proud of, IMO. All that with seemingly no discernible sexual pandering or simpering.



Maureen Dowd wishes she had half of Noonan's chops so that she wouldn't have to keep reminding us of her sexual cachet and her charmingly girlish ways as she battles her incipient decline into middleaged caricature.

Does anyone know how many signatures the Color of Change petition has garnered so far? I've been passing it on whenever possible and I'm wondering if it would be good to continue keeping it at the top of your page or on the sidebar.



I honestly do believe that the more evidence that party has that this will not be tolerated, the better.

Hahaha, I've always been puzzled and uncomfortable with the whole "friend" definition between myself and many white people. It's one that I really hold the line on with my children too. If you haven't been invited into our home and fed a sit down meal at our table, then it's highly unlikely you're one of our "friends". Lots of acquaintences, sure, lots of friendly acquaintences but friends is a whole diff thing.

I have been mulling this as the months go on and even up to a few weeks ago I wasn't able to bring myself to the ultimate "hell no" decision. I kept thinking on the whole Supreme Court and no McCain arguments and putting off my growing fury and disgust.

I've said in the past how the Dems only wake up and actively courts its minority base at election time and the rest it's all "who? oh yes, wait in line" but these past weeks have finally tipped the scales for me.

I'm not sitting out the general, no. My vote will be counted. What I will do, if it comes to that, is write in Obama. Having served as Minority Captain at my precinct I know all too well that even if your dumbass writes in "Yosemite Sam" we have to write it down and count and record it.

If she steals this nomination, I want the Machine to count and record every vote lost by her her and not get to wave it off or just speculate that we wouldn't have voted anyway. Hell no. I want a record of just how many of us would have voted for him.



So that's my plan, I hope that I don't have to do it but if I do, I hope I'm far from alone.

To everyone else, I repeat my exhortation to phone bank, people. Go online to Barackobama.com and follow the links to making calls for our next president. It honestly does make a difference, I've had to really struggle with my usual dislike of phone convos but it's gotten so much easier and each time we sign up another volunteer that we know is going to go out and canvas or get out the vote or whathave, it brings us that little bit closer.



She won vast swathes of western PA without one single canvasser or sign or nothing so obviously, it's a struggle but good grief, SO WORTH IT. One hour a night making calls.



Okay, off to sleep for me but I'm telling you, this IS going to happen if we all get in it together.

And these folks just made their switch this past week!! You guys, our little local office has at least two people come in every day, who just need to "fellowship" and mourn the fact that they just HAD to switch from Clinton to this man they so admire now, Obama. And they're relieved and scared and tired of the ugliness.



I keep telling my folks on my list that ~

it is IMPOSSIBLE for her to win enough delegates at this point unless she makes it a complete and total blowout.

That no matter what stumbles he's made in this campaign, he has never eaten his words, has kept to his message of personal responsibility for our actions and holding our leaders to the same standard.

That while she is indeed a very experienced fighter, that it means nothing to be the best fighter in a dirty game. For our country, we need to change the GAME.



One voter at a time, we're getting there and so PLEASE, any of you who can spare even one hour, go to Obama site and sign up and get your online phonebank list and work it. People are HUNGRY to hear that it's okay to vote for him.

Honestly, while her and ilk do have more than a few fans, I see evidence that more people are just plain tired of them. We've got some serious work to do and the issues aren't going to be ignored away by focusing on our divisions. Now, whether it's fear or hope that drives the voters to the polls this November remains to be shaped and seen.



I, for one, have little problem with Obama's inexperience in fighting and swimming the shitsoup that has become our politicas as usual. It's a strength, as far as I and many others are concernec.



As to him having to overcome the belief that he will offer Reparations Legislation ....hahahahahahahahahahaha, I'll just make sure to wear my tinfoil hat and whistle Dixie if I hear that one straight out of anyone's mouth.



The next time someone tells me that they're voting for him because he's black I'm going to say "pssst! You know his momma was white?? That he was raised by white people? Do you know what that means?? He's going to uplift the downtrodden white people to their rightful place in this country!!"
