in Thought of the Day- Obama Enters the Matrix on Kyle Brady: A Blog
This is great, but I would like to see video footage of Obama's amazing kung-fu fight with agent Smth. Albilty to kick one of the Matrix agent wold clearly varify BA's ability to take on all comers and deal with all of the issues currently affecting the world today. For exmple, Barak could meet wit the Iranian pres and if they dont cease their nuclear wepons development program Neo-Barrick could simply take him out. He count likewise with the current ayatola.

We don;t think diplomcy word word , or Israeli air stikes...just give Barak a pen-knife and set him loose in Iran hall of politcal, he cound kill everyone that matters in Iran politics that are causiing global concern.

I have no doubt that Obama could kick any workld leader's but, ...cause he has Neo-esque powes. His could be the new form of internation diplomacy - the US makes demnds of rogue stat and if the dont accept, we just send BA to take them all out.

There may many Obama super powerd mimd contol; or teleportation.

I wamt to see the BA files as a series...it could include pit fighting or random bashings of inocent people...but we DO know he is bad arse...let s start making better use of BA happen. Im sure he would be happy confidence in his admin.

Kill them all and make better coruption charges agains the cartels. He could also take out all of the neo-cons, just becuae they have it coming to them

I would be hapy to take BA through a MA course, but he would probale prefer to just shoot the vicitms.

i want to see more action from the Us, forget dialogue ...just nuke and get it over and done with.

Go Obama, let clean the world up today had make life suck...I offer free MS lesson, but only to Presidents...I gues the 1.5 mill payment is enought to sooth my indigatnation.

Finally, Obma does rock, let wish well

On the road is one of my all time favourites! I tend to re-read it when I am going through really weird stages of my life...I guess I draw comfort from the fact that there are people that are stranger than me out there.

I like the laser torch, but can't think of a single situation where it would be useful.

Also, we have a problem with idiots flashing laser pointers into the eyes of pilots as they try to land their jumbos in my country at the moment. Laser pointers have been banned, let alone laser torches...I doubt I'd get it through customs.

in a task that is from God on FreThink
I find it amazing as an Australian that Americans have allowed religion to become so intertwined with politics. I have heard some American fundamentalist Christians make the arguement that the constitutional concept of seperation of church from state is outdated and was a product of the democratic revolutions of the 16-1700s.

These same people, however, are happy to have the clearly anachronistic concept of the right to bear arms perpetuated in modern American society.

I don't want to judge, but the modern American psyche seems somewhat incoherent from the outside looking in. You have to wonder where they are heading.

jeber Some of us wonder, too. See http://frethink.com/?p=125 as an example.
Almost Nurse Joe The problem is that those Americans who think it's okay for religion to be in our political system seem to make the assumption that it's going to be *their* religion that makes it in (because theirs is the only one that's right, of course). Any time someone with some sense in their head tries to speak out against the Christianization of the American government the fundies rally the moderates with cries of "they want to abolish God!" What we need to turn the tide are high-profile, principled, religious leaders to take a stand and tell their congregations: "The current system is what allows us to be free, to exist in many cases. Let's not take that away."

Also, I respectfully disagree with your wording: it is not the "modern American psyche" but rather the modern Conservative American psyche that is leading us down this truly frightening road. If I were to venture a logical guess I'd say that the Conservatives who believe that bull make up less than half of the U.S. population, but they manage to guilt, lie, and trick the more moderate Conservatives into lining up behind them.

And yes, I do wonder where we're heading.

in Swedish government - it’s illegal for schools to teach religious doctrine as if it were true. on FreThink
Interesting to see that Doris was in no hurry to get back to you with conclusive proof of the existance of Holy Spirit energy.

Good work Sweden, but I would have gone more down the path of Dawkins and Sabuni. All organised religion is a disease that needs to be eradicated. Sure we can hope that most religious followers are not fundamentalists and therefore pose no risk to the advancement of mankind, but this is simply not true.

Scratch a follower, find a fundamentalist. Religious people are mentally ill and incapable of following paths of logic. If this fact was not hidden under the cloak of respect for religions it would be seen as a social problem of epidemic proportions. Our mental institutions would be full to overflowing.

RAMMSTEIN Nice point about Doris' disappearing act Scott - a little like someone else we know hey ;p I find it both amusing and offensive that God botherers demand evidence for evolution yet can provide nothing but 2000 year old rhetoric to support their claims! According to them their argument is so solid but all it comes down to is feelings and emotions.

As for the mental illness issue, again if someone were getting around telling people that pixies in the garden were talking to them they would be institutionalised Yet if god talks to someone that's perfectly rational behaviour. When was the last time anyone actually saw god???
