@Armondo: I know gaim well. That is part of the process of getting AIM folks in your buddy list described above. Adium may be the best messenger on the planet as well - I do not use a mac regularly though.

@Joey I will be sure to check it out.

Christine: Thanks for your feedback. I guess for some travelers it is now better to have that knowledge rather than not. Sometimes a clear message works to deliver information - to some other commenter points, I feel they should be stating what is good about the route and airline vs. simply going there.

I wonder what they will do with the subs they get now. They may refund - or parlay it into another property. I am definitely sad to see it go.

in My Thoughts Twitter on Marketing
Hi Amy,

Thanks for the comment - I actually setup a tumblr account a few days back over at bytez.tumblr.com which I may use on a website. Steve Rubel also does something similar over at http://www.steverubel.com/ which is pretty cool.

The question remains though: who is going to read all this:)

You are correct in that this occurred also last year. I wrote about it this year again as it is currently live on display in the NYC flagship store. I may even try to get a live picture.

in Summer Soda Promotions MyCokeRewards.com vs. Transformyoursummer.com on Marketing
Hi Marilyn,

Are you trying the official site: http://pepsi.yahoo.com/transformyoursummer/ ?

Give that a shot. I know that you need to sign up for a YahooID which is not so bad - great for Yahoo - and of course can be used for any of their services like email or any member login page.

in New Google Definitions? on Marketing
Nathan - I am familiar with the "define:" prefix - this was the actual definition with the word itself linking back to wikipedia vs the url under the definition. The typical definition string also brings back the book logo - obviously not present in my screen shot.

in The “Dish” on Google TV on Marketing
I think this has been their plan all along Krissy. Keep the networks arguing over the typical upfront business - and come out with a great ad delivery and handling system that can be used on a forward thinking company like Dish Networks. Then once they are established they can ask the same of a large network.

in The Google Phone on Marketing
Hi Sean,

I agree that they would not be hiring people unless they had some kind of strategy for this area. I have also speculated that as Eric Schmidt sits on the Apple board that they would actually come out with an Google iPhone collaboration that would obviously have mass appeal.

I think people want to see this device come to fruition and these types of things only help test market demand.

I guess I meant that you can take it with you and embed it anywhere. Today mobile also should include working on mobile phones for sure, but as for the limitations of other presentation software and the hassle in getting others to see the same thing your seeing, this is mobile in my book. I will update the post to clarify though:)

in Dell in Second Life on Marketing
Hi Taran,

I guess I didnt clarify. - I meant that if residents are getting free things than usually they are happy - if Dell is distributing the computers then they are also happy in turn. I thought the flow of the article explained that but maybe not.

I havnt had a chance to check it out yet myself - but I will soon enough.

Hi Alexander,

Thanks for the links. This seems like a very cool promo and the Facast system looks pretty slick. I have to give props to F\X for using such technology to setup this promotion and for giving this level of fan interaction. I would definitely be interested in covering this further.

in Mobile Blogging via the Tmobile MDA on Marketing
Hi Tiffany,

The phone quality is great in my opinion. I have made quite a few calls using the speakerphone function instead of waiting on hold with the phone to my ear. I was in the same position when evaluating which device to buy - after doing some extensive research I decided to go with a windows device because of the interopperability (sp?) with windows, as I am using a PC as my primary system.

I should also point out that this is not my main voice device (I have another tmobile cell for that) but this is mainly an email\mobile blogging\mobile web browsing and testing device. I have been out of the mobile scene for awhile and I have now jumped back in.

If I could make a suggestion - I bought my MDA through wirefly and I could not reccomend them more. I have a 1 year contract, the phone will end up being free after all the rebates in a few months, and the data plan is only 29.99 a month.

Tmobile so far has had optimal service in and around the NYC area. I have used the data feature extensively and coverage is great.

Hope this helps!

in Top US Web Brands Supported by User Generated Content on Marketing
Hi Gideon,

I had a chance to checkout your blog, the AS site, as well as some other projects you are working on via MarkenMedia...and I thought I was busy!

I think its great you are allowing your users to profit share with their own adsense code. Have many people signed up? Also, why not still rotate in your own adsense code, at least 5%-10% of the time? There are hosting costs and the admin duties you seem to handle in the forums etc...

I think revenue sharing will become commonplace - and we will start to see more people with the ability to start recieving it, meaning more end users with adsense accounts in the first place. I know of many forums that are currently allowing users to share in their adsense earnings which contributes to the forum community as well as keeps users posting.

I have checked out revver - and I know one famous instance in which the guys who made the now famous "mentos" experiment video - made thousands of dollars via a rev. share. Great example of everyone "getting" a piece.
