Country pop music is just insanely terrible. It seems pretty fitting that such backwards people would be into it.

Pretty sweet list, although I disagree about the Nirvana comment. "Punk" or not, it's the sound guy's job to get shit right. A lot of sound guys suck. I'm with Kurt.

I find it hard to believe this girl is a virgin... But good for her :)
And to all of the people whining about "prostitution" - keep your morals to yourself. Prostitution should be legal as should all other victimless crimes (all drugs should obviously be legalized. this time in history will be looked back at as extremely prudish and ridiculous just like the prohibition of the '20s looks like now.)

That's nice to hear that Steve Nash digs Radiohead. That's pretty bad ass actually.

in AdSense Ads Not Showing Up - Here May Be the Reason! on John Cow dot COM
Ah, I was hoping that this was about why AdSense sometimes shows PSAs on a website instead of actual ads. They've started doing this to me on a few sites and I can't figure out why. The sites used to show ads and then one day it was all PSAs.

in Lesson From Entrepreneurs: Swig on How To Split An Atom
I like the idea but I think .. well I'm not sure it will work out quite like this. If you think about something like Squidoo with the profit sharing idea. Do "normal" people really make lens to make a few extra dollars or is it a tool used by internet marketers in other ways? I'd have to say the latter. Anyway I will check out Swig regardless. Good luck with it.

Agreed with the other commenters - cool service - but very illegal and it will probably be shut down relatively quickly.

This sounds really interesting. I think I'm going to try it myself and I'll let you know how it goes. I'm going to be doing this with the muscle building exercises you mention on the other entry.

in Is Obama black? (Scripting News) on Scripting News
I agree that Barack Obama isn't black like most inner city blacks of America are. But that isn't stopping American blacks from voting for him. So... And in reality it's that because Obama is not "black" in that way that he's gained so much support from moderate whites. Sure it's a delicate issue... all of this race stuff. But that's alright. I think what's key is that Obama is not a black candidate for president. He is the CHANGE candidate for president. The fact that he is black (or biracial) is an after thought for me. What I care about is what he's going to change in this country - domestically and as far as foreign policy is concerned.

in Marketing With SMS (text messaging)? on Jim Kukral
I just don't understand the idea behind sending ads via a cellphone. I can't tell you how pissed off Id' be if I got an ad on my cellphone. Although 10 years ago I didn't think ads on the internet would work either... So I'm probably wrong. But .. damn, I just can't imagine being OK with getting an ad on my cellphone.

That sounds really cool, particularly the Roger Waters show. Although... In a way it doesn't seem right that someone else is playing David Gilmour's parts as he's one of my favorite guitarists ever.

in Radiohead Revisited: Nine Inch Nails Selling Album Online on Marketing Pilgrim
I really like this album. It may be my favorite NIN yet. It's very ambient... Very Brian Eno inspired. Personally the vocals/lyrics of NIN puts me off from listening to a lot of them. I think the music/production is often genius but the vocals/lyrics lagging behind. So an instrumental NIN album works well for me. And yes, I love what they (and Radiohead) are doing as far bypassing the record labels. This is the future.

What is BEBO? Man, there's just too many of these social networking sites and whatnot. Who really cares? I just... There's just way too many of 'em. We don't need anymore social networking sites. I know most people I know feel like being on both facebook & myspace is already too much.

Personally I think I'd rather hear the Robert Plant/Allison Krauss deal than Led Zep. I mean... With these old rock band reunions it's never... It just sounds like a nostalgia thing rather than anything fresh. The Plant/Krauss album is real nice because it sounds like something fresh.

in CD Review: Ann Wilson’s Hope & Glory on Real Rock News
I'd prefer to hear Bob Dylan sing for a million hours than to hear this lady sing for 10 minutes. It drives me crazy when people complain about Dylan's voice. For one thing there's a lot more to music than vocals, and for another thing - He's got a great voice. His voice has character. It's interesting. I don't know... I guess it's just one of those things you get or you don't get but... All I can say is you are missing out.

in Thoughts On YouTube, The Beatles & Copyrights? on Jim Kukral
It may not be technically legal, but the sound quality is so bad (it's mixed down to mono with low fidelity) that I dont think it would ever take the place of a proper recording for anyone who really likes the music. So I think that's part of it... Plus if you think about it - it's sort of like a video that MTV would play right? It's and advertisement. I think it probably leads to more sales for the Beatles in the end.

in Radiohead’s Music Downloads - An Experiment on Marketing Pilgrim
As a big Radiohead fan I think it's great that they did this but at the same time I think it's good that in the long term it's the album that will be most remembered (as it is a brilliant album) and not the marketing strategy. But I do think how well it's turned out for them is proof that trying new things in the marketing world can be a very good thing.

in The Beatles Albums: Best to Worst on Webomatica
Interesting exercise but I don't really think this is how an album should be ranked. There's more to a great album than the sum of the songs. I also think you highly underrate the White Album & Magical Mystery Tour.
