What Portsmouth and Wigan have done is nothing at all like what's going on with Man City right now. Who gets mad at an underdog for doing well? Unless they support the underdog's rival club or if it's at their favorite club's expense, it's pretty silly to have hatred directed towards them. Both those teams have struggled to survive relegation since being in the Premiership. There should be no ego boost for them in surviving relegation battles, just a huge feeling of relief.

What irritates me is teams thinking they're entitled to something because of who they are, what they've done in the past or how much money they have. Prove it on the pitch.

Boro gets a good share of upsets, but they're always seems to be sporadic and in between a few trouncings. I expect them to take a beating this weekend.

Did you see their games on Sunday? I thought the Newcastle - Man United stalemate and the Villa thrashing of Man City both very enjoyable and entertaining. 7 minute hat trick from Agbonlahor! I kinda agree with you on the dumbing down thing, but I thought they showed some great football on Sunday.

The ascension of Pompey the past few years is an amazing story. Harry Redknapp has done amazing things with this club, and while not a serious challenger for the league, this club has a bright future. Jermaine Defoe showed how good he really is immediately after joining them, and I'm figuring it will be apparent in just a couple months that Peter Crouch's value t0 Pompey will far outweigh his value to Liverpool.

Arsenal, even though they sell away great youngsters before they can break through there all the time, are still the best at turning their youngsters into something special. Nasri I thought was worth more than what they paid, and will be a huge star some day. Still, I don't think they have the edge of Chelsea or Man U to take them to the top of the league. I agree with them as the fourth of big four, but would not be suprised to see them as number three, or win one of the two domestic cups.

Like I said, those are easy predictions to make before the season starts without much to go on. They're not really bad picks, but they're dull and a little too... predictable.

Every year the favorites to go down are the recently promoted teams, but it rarely if ever happens. In a similar situation, in the NCAA Final Four, the number one seeds are always predicted to win, but that never happens... until this year. I seriously doubt all three promoted teams will go straight back down.. but it's the easiest prediction before the season starts. Most people will always pick the proven teams before the unproven...

I think the Crystal Palace kit looks better.
