in Mobile In/Mobile Out on A VC
I'm gonna do a little experiment. Is it possible (through this comment thread) to brainstorm/focus on what a mobile and social feed reader would be...

Personally . . . I would want a social feed reader with exceptional mobile capabilities. I'm going to focus on the social aspect..

I would want my feed reader to be as simple as can be with functionalities such as: reblogging to tumblr or twitter, saving feeds, and commenting. These are all important...however, the most valuable feature on this 'social feed reader' should be recommendations. I have thousands of unread feeds in my Google Reader piled up; it is impossible to filter. If your trusted group of friends are on such site and each recommend a feed a day, the amount of 'worthwhile' content should increase. Something similar to TimesPeople..

I encourage everyone to add their thoughts!

As a high school junior, awesome post! Education prepares you how to think no matter what the eventuality is. However, the education system in America needs to be fixed. I can relate to having a boring teacher.. I have a total of 8 teachers and one of them is lazy.. Majority of the class believes we would learn more from sitting in the library reading the textbook.

Interesting fact - kids in Japan and Germany have between 220-240 days of school in the year. Here in America we have 180 days. My school (Jewish day school) has something like 120 full days of school..

in Is Dell Dead?…Well Yes! on Howard Lindzon
I bought Dell about 5 years ago when I was 10/11 years old at $20 and sold it at $40! I was recently thinking about buying it again because it is back below $20 but my dad (who has been a stockbroker for over 25 years at AG Edwards) and this post is advising me not to.

Fred - What do you think the benefits of comments are? Both in your perspective as the blog publisher/moderator and to a blog reader?

fredwilson They extend the post in all kinds of great directions. They make this two way media instead of one way

I learn so much from my comments. I am not sure I'd still be blogging if I didn't have them to keep me going

Nice comment @SM. It's great reading that you admitted to taking full responsibility rather than saying, "it was ____ fault".

Fred - Have you been on any boards (previously or currently) to where it has run poorly, people didn't get along, company wasn't very successful, and at the end of the day failed? If so, it would be cool to write a post titled, "Lessons Learned From Not Following My Board Rules"..something like that ;)

Very cool, Fred. I am hoping to do the same this summer. I try, speak to, and learn from as many people as possible. Due to my age, I am not allowed to go around Houston and put myself out there to meet new people. So I do it online. I have met an enormous amount of great people on the web and have first built email relationships...then telephone calls relationships.

I have built a group of mentors and an advisory board for my "start-up" that I am trying to build...literally from ground up. If I didn't have these people who are mentoring me...I know for a fact I would not have excelled as far as I have to this day.

This summer I plan to meet the people that I have built "good" relationships with in Boulder as well as the people in the Valley and possible New York! Not only am I going to be meeting them but possibly interning with either their company or a company he/she has invested in. Should be a great experience that I am really looking forward to!

Very cool! What were some of the lessons or things you learned at dinner with Elon? I am sure you can learn a ton from him.

I am trying to start my blog called: "Learn From A High School Student" and plan to write about my experiences and lessons that I have leaned from the influential people I speak to.

Do you have any lessons you would like to share with us from Elon?
