in Traffic Thursdays | An Official AdSense Webinar Transcript Free on Free Traffic Tips
Tinu - Went through the Adsense Video presentation. It was as plain as day, thorough, and informative. There was one thing that was a problem for me, personally, and that was the voice recording - in that I had to "rewind" the lesson(s) to listen to some sections again. Over all, I give it a B+. Thanks.

in Entrepreneurs: Weekend Reading for Fun and Profit on Instigator Blog
Ben - Great article with some awesome information. I know how you feel regarding not having enough time to read. I was in the same position until I decided to organize my week into 'bites of time'.
I took a calendar and scheduled all the regular stuff and then took the 'open times' and inserted time to read, time to blog, time to exercise, time for family things - not necessarily in that order. I'm in my second week of this regime and it is going quite well.
Give it a try if you think it would work for you.
Take care.

in Do You Ever Have Days Like This? on Instigator Blog
Ben,
I used to have days like you've described above and my 'method of escape' was to ignore them, which, as anyone could surmised, did not solve the problem.
It was a 'fear of failure' that had taken hold of me. Once I started facing that problem, rather than running away, I felt so much better.
Yes, it took some time to incorporate this attitude, but once installed, you can't imagine the peace and tranquility which I have.
Wishing everyone the ability and stamina to make their lives void of angst, and to always have friends/family, to lean on.
Best to you.

in Miles From Nowhere on odd time signatures
Arguably, one of the greatest movies ever made.
In my opinion, the media is the main cause of most of the troubles we have in our country along with the diatribe the politicians espouse.
If they all focused on the positive instead of the negative, the depraved, the inane celebrities, the idiotic, etc., our country would be healthier, happier and more cohesive. Shame on them.
United we stand, divided we fall.

in Is Your Ego The Perfect Size To Be a Great Leader? on Instigator Blog
Ben - I used to have an ego so huge I could hardly get into a car unless the top was down - and I was absolutely miserable - but I didn't know it. I now have a balanced ego - one could say that I have no ego which has dearly helped me with my becoming more humble, happier and balanced.
I think Caesar had some issues and who wouldn't if they were viewed as a god and Napoleon had interminable will and an understanding of leadership, rather than huge ego. They were both working for a cause, Napoleon's was just a bit more popular and heroic.
Being a student of WWII, I need not dwell on Hitler and his cronies, the damage they caused and the millions they slew. Hitler was imbalanced and was truly a megalomaniac who suffered from the effects of syphilis, which attacks the reasoning portion of the brain. That still doesn't excuse his atrocious behavior.
Sorry, just had to weigh in on Sam's comment.
It's most important to have a healthy ego. I recently watched the interview with Gates and Jobs. Bill came across as an ass with a smug attitude, Steve's comportment was that of a gentleman with class. So much for some egos.
Thoughtful post. Thanks.
Your huge ego? I saw no evidence of such an animal.

Thom - How cool! You're lucky to have had that experience. My dad was a career Army/Airforce officer (32+ yrs) and I was fortunate to fly in several turbo-prop and jets. Even got to see the inside of our B-52's back in the 60's.
Thanks for bringing back memories of good times.

in Not Grandma’s Santa Monica on odd time signatures
As a child I lived in Santa Monica, just off Wilshire Blvd. about 6 blocks from PCH with my mother and grandmother while my father, who was in the military, was in Korea. Pictures I have of those times are a far cry from the Santa Monica of today. It would be nice to see how it was some 80 years ago. Thanks for the memory jog.

in Build YouTube Ebay Amazon Affiliate Website In 10 Minutes Or Less on Sage Blogger
Vlad - I'm with you in that I think eBay is a, well, let's just put it this way - I would never list nor purchase anything from their site as I feel their business ethics are sorely lacking. Amazon, on the other hand, is antithesis of eBay. I'll check out Mark's site. Thanks for alerting us to Mark's work. Later.

in Precisely Why It Pays To Update Your Sales Pages on Andy Beard - Internet Business Systems Discussion
Andy, My problem with most sales pages revolve around the multiple prices and seemingly contradictory verbiage that you find in the copy. First it's $109.00 but valued at $2500, or whatever, then it's $79.00 and when you finally get to the bottom of the page it's even lower. I also find the claims they make about what this ebook will do for you outrageously and obviously patently false. I wholeheartedly agree with "Music Recordings'" statement - "If the writer really did know how to make that kind of money, he wouldn't be sitting here trying to sell cheap ebooks". Ah, there's the rub.

in Converting Visitors Into Subscribers on Andy Beard - Internet Business Systems Discussion
Andy - As usual, you're spot on. Great idea on upper left positioning, etc. After reading this tip, I jumped on several sites and paid attention to what part of the opening page my eyes were drawn. Of course, it was the upper left or upper middle. I wonder if this is due to the way we read - we start at the upper left and go to the right and then back to the left. Wouldn't it be interesting to test this same principle out on those that don't read in English, but rather Middle and Far Eastern languages that don't start from the upper left. Take care.
