Is MS waiting for Office 12 to come out?????

Hope that isn't what they are waiting for.

Re: FireFox OneNote PowerToy

I had the same problem with the extension not working. I followed a link from lifehacker.com to the following website where a solution is posted:

http://www.liewcf.com/blog/archives/2005/09/mak...

The solution works for me. But I am no expert on these things. I suppose I should say that people should use the work-around at their own risk...

But it has worked perfectly for me!

Re: OneNote PowerToys Contest Update - 4/6/06

Does this mean they will only post versions that work with Office 2007? Hope not!

Re: Yard Sale Contest #1 - The Cases

I'd love number 17. We live near her work because she has to be there everyday (making her commute roughly 5 minutes by car). My commute to grad school (about 3 days/week) takes one hour. Unfortunately, there are no viable public transportation options. I work at home the other days.

Re: 5 Green Laptops from Toshiba

I agree that holding on to a laptop longer is a great way to be green. But 2-3 years is NOT long. I'm finally giving up my Toshiba after 5 1/2 years of service. And I wish I could make it last longer but upgrades are no longer reasonable for this model.

I think we need to encourage computer manufacturers to build-in greater ability for upgrades AND we need to encourage consumers to spend the extra few bucks to have a computer that can last them 5-7 rather than 1-3 years.

Re: More Talk About A Dim Bulb, Part I

Improving CFL quality--especially its brightness--would go a long way towards getting consumer acceptance. Current ones don't bother me all that much but they drive my wife crazy! She really needs a bright environment or she feels depressed. And CFLs just can't guarantee that.

Regarding the length of time it takes for them to reach their current levels of brightness, I think it would make sense to warn consumers with the label that this is what happens.
