Agreed on all points except for maybe 6 - I think an evolution of the social web will bring this through in a different way maybe through some sort of social identity aggregator. Friendfeed is also a bit like this though again there is little meta data to help organise the mess.

But you say this is Twitter 2012, yet each one of the features you ask for is available through third pary addons so surely we can get there sooner?

now this sounds like a great update - the search funcitonality and reply capabilities are decent improvements.

so how long before we can combine our disqus and facebook acocunts so that whether i comment in facebook or disqus all comments show under one profile?

What would be nicer is the ability to have both on one profile, but privacy options as to who can see which stream.

I used to have that with my hotmail account too - I guess I do not use it enough nowadays - I get plenty of spam in the spam folders of my google accounts but not so much in my hotmail account. Equally though I probably get one email every month or so into the hotmail account anyway.

So it arrived - a day late for me unfortunately but on time for my wife. I was fully expecting it to arrive a day late as all post into our building is always a day later that normal. Still it was fine though I am right on the edge of wondering whether to continue or not. We'll give it a few more weeks I think, if only for the health benefits. It is making me eat more healthy food..

Thanks Emma - yes I did expand the search - in the end I found someone via Google's web search as I could not find my paper Yellow Pages - I noticed also a box on the results page showing me an option for people who "served my area" but unfortunately this only listed one supplier as well.

Does the digital version have all the businesses listed in the paper version?

hmm have to say that the quality of the interface is nowhere near as simple as freeparking (though freeparking is not quite so colourful and looks dated).

That said the pricing is much better..

oh and just so I have said it online somewhere - 1and1 are completely hopeless, worst provider ever.

Looks like the white ones are starting to show cracks.. so black was the way to go ;)

As others of said, you can add your provider inside the tag of your blog and then use your blog URL as your openid URL. That way if the provider disappears its no problem to change provider.

Yahoo's Upcoming service (upcoming.yahoo.com) would help with this.. or even a Facebook event (though thats obviously more limiting.

yes I agree the biggest winners from the event were Yahoo - they outnumbered all others for praise. eBay did well as well - helped by the fact they had a representative there as well I think, though I have forgotten his name :(

Others did less well - Techcrunch UK probably needed Sam Sethi there as he is the face of Techcrunch UK - though his lack of appearance also brought conversation - and that in itself will keep people going to the blog. There was definitely less chance of those conversations happening without the sponsorship.

I agree on Belkin and Chinwag - though I had network cables - I wonder what those without network cables views were on Belkin. I can see them mentioning Belkin in conversations after..

Representation is definitely key - but I wouldnt want barcamp to become full of them :)

Well the design seems friendly but that's all I can really say so far - I spent the 30 minutes trying to get it up and running and then uninstalling it ;)

I have installed it on my other machine now, which installed through just fine. Don't you just love different computers..
