I found you from Problogger. I am checking out a lot of your articles. As a fairly active user of SU I found this interesting. I think its spot on except for one thing....

You didn't really say anything about subscribing to favorites. This is one of the most important parts of the SU experience. When I go to my home page I see the stuff of people I have subscribed to that they have fav'd in the past couple of hours. I surf those sites and I rarely use the Stumble button.

The more active users all use subscribe to favorites a lot. This can't be underestimated. They are the ones you want finding your site because its more viral. They are the ones that get it voted high enough to gain traction and for SU to start loading that article in the random Stumble mix.

Food for thought...

Cheers,
Jeremy

Re: When Nerds Attack

Hi David,

Everyone's got an opinion. Chrome is supposedly less of a memory hog, but I like to open multiple tabs at once. Chrome doesn't seem to handle this as well as firefox. But Im only one user and have only one experience. ;-)

Anyhow, these are entertaining to read. Not sure you have done so already but I would be interested in reading articles about how you deal with these situations.

Cheers,
Jeremy

Re: Too Many Blogs Out There Already? Stop making excuses and get to work! Thats about the best key to success in life you can have. All other advice I give comes after you get started on the thing you want to accomplish. Good stuff. Ive heard of many of these things before, but they are always a good reminder.

But like Billionaire Woman said, I just recently have had a number of coincidences happen that I can't deny. Maybe my brain is just trying to seek out things in the environment that will confirm a decision I have been trying to make for years.

Lest we forget, many grand life changing and history changing decisions have been made with these biases. Both good and bad.

While it is wise to watch out for biases that will steer us in the wrong direction I also believe that, with the right mindset, self fulfilling prophecies can, and should, come true.

Cheers,
Jeremy

Re: how to stick to a decision

Hi Steve,

I'd say that if your wife is 100% with you than you should go for it. I have always had problems making decisions. Although my parents are partly the cause I can not come close to blaming them entirely.

My personality has a lot to do with it too. I didn't know you had these other sites until I looked at your SU profile. I think your business idea is pretty good. And asking for reader feedback is great. I think if you put all the advice together and think about what will really work you will get a great result. My 2 cents......I think finding the correct price point is important as well as studying any competition. I was shopping for kids books the other day for my niece and I was surprised to see how much they cost. I thought kids books were less expensive than the business books I read but they aren't! I ended up buying a book for $10 but most of them were closer to $20.I think Avani has a great point about customization. I think that could be a big hit.If I were you I would charge at least $5 per download and also give parents the chance to buy actual books for a higher price. There are a few companies that specialize in self-publishing now. My friend got her book of poetry made that way.All in all, you have a lot of research to do, but as more people find your site and comment you should be able to tweak it for success. Best of luck to you Maya!Cheers,Jeremy

Re: 10 Simple Steps To Increase Blog Traffic Via StumbleUpon

Hi,

Very good post. Congrats on getting a shout out on Chris G's site. I really love both your writing and his. I agree with Robert. I don't know of any authority blog on self-confidence and I surf the web a lot! Keep posting these great articles. Come on over and visit http://www.insightwriter.com when you get a chance.

Cheers,
Jeremy

Re: Using Gmail as Your Universal Email Account

I already do this and it works great!
