in Your relationship with your parents have a lot to do with your career success on GeekMBA360: Beat Recession. Grow Career. Build Wealth.
Hi,

Been there, done that, got the t-shirt. I have always had problems making decisions. Although my parents are partly the cause I can not come close to blaming them entirely.

My personality has a lot to do with it too. But ones always needs to remember to never under-estimate the power our past and upbringing have on us. There really is something to it. This is a good helpful article.

Cheers,
Jeremy

in how to stick to a decision on brip blap
Hi Steve,

I'd say that if your wife is 100% with you than you should go for it. I am considering a similar move. Good luck whatever you decide!

in Are you interested in a lot of different things, but not sure what exactly you want to do about your career? on GeekMBA360: Beat Recession. Grow Career. Build Wealth.
Hi,

Great article and website. I must say this is one of the few blogs that I was impressed by right away. I will be subscribing.

Also, seems we have similar interests and a similar desire to help people. Hopefully we can work together in the future...

Sincerely,
Jeremy

in Mental Bias - Would You Like Fries With Your Warm Fuzzy Platitudes? on SidSavara.com
This is a really good article Ali. Ive heard of many of these things before, but they are always a good reminder.

But like Billionaire Woman said, I just recently have had a number of coincidences happen that I can't deny. Maybe my brain is just trying to seek out things in the environment that will confirm a decision I have been trying to make for years.

Lest we forget, many grand life changing and history changing decisions have been made with these biases. Both good and bad.

While it is wise to watch out for biases that will steer us in the wrong direction I also believe that, with the right mindset, self fulfilling prophecies can, and should, come true.

Cheers,
Jeremy

aliventures By no means do I want to deny that coincidences exist! I just think that too many people ascribe too much meaning to them, when there's nothing there. On the other hand, I believe in God ... and so I do try to stay open-minded about stuff "beyond" what science tells us.

I think you're right about being aware of biases; that knowledge can steer us away from a lot of dodgy thinking.

in The Business Idea: MemeTales: Democratize the creation of children’s books on The Geekdance Blog
Hi Maya,Wow! I didn't know you had these other sites until I looked at your SU profile. I think your business idea is pretty good. And asking for reader feedback is great. I think if you put all the advice together and think about what will really work you will get a great result. My 2 cents......I think finding the correct price point is important as well as studying any competition. I was shopping for kids books the other day for my niece and I was surprised to see how much they cost. I thought kids books were less expensive than the business books I read but they aren't! I ended up buying a book for $10 but most of them were closer to $20.I think Avani has a great point about customization. I think that could be a big hit.If I were you I would charge at least $5 per download and also give parents the chance to buy actual books for a higher price. There are a few companies that specialize in self-publishing now. My friend got her book of poetry made that way.All in all, you have a lot of research to do, but as more people find your site and comment you should be able to tweak it for success. Best of luck to you Maya!Cheers,Jeremy

in The Problem with The Pareto Principle on SidSavara.com
Hi Ali,

I think the Pareto Principle is a just a good idea taken too far. And it should only apply to the macro level rather than the micro level. Great way to put it all together Ali!

aliventures Good point about the macro rather than micro level -- I agree that part of the problem with Pareto for very small businesses like my one-gal-and-a-laptop outfit is that it's actually quite easy to remove inefficiencies! It's only when you get into macro-economic situations that the 80/20 statistics work out.

Hi John and JK,

This was a very insightful article. I love following comments around and around. It's funny to see comments on here from Allyn who I found out about on Garry Conn's website. This is a really tight knit community. The great thing I think is that we can all grow together.

Peter Lee Hi Jeremy,
Thanks for dropping by and welcome to my blog. I think this is a great idea. I've always liked anything that is viral as the concept is so simple yet powerful. Well Yan was pretty interested to start it too but I guess he was too preoccupied with other stuff. Hope he gets my message loud and clear. I have not been monitoring the progress of those 5 persons I tagged but I do get linkbacks from time to time. Well I hope you start a post too on this but I think who you select to tag (5 names) will determine how successful it will be.

in How I turned a $400 investment into $4,000 in a few hours on Billionaire Woman
Hi Nathalie,

Another great post. Surprised there are not more comments on this. I am curious to know what sites are making you money.
Also, I think if you stop reading and just start doing, you will be that much closer to your goal.

in Self-Employment: One Selfish Way to Financial Independence on Billionaire Woman
Hi Nathalie,

Great post. I love it when I find other people encouraging people to be entrepreneurs. That is one of the main things that made this country great and I think we have lost some of that. I do look forward to reading more.

in P.S.: Don’t Forget to Include This in Your Copy on The Michel Fortin Blog
Hi Michel,

Great post and I agree wholeheartedly. I have used this for both personal and business writing and it works wonders. With all the emails and letters we get for advertising in the mail many of us have turned into "skimmers". The PS is truly a great tool because it really is a second headline opportunity.
